After joining the NBA, Wallace found his stride with the Pistons where his career took off. In his first season with the team, he averaged 2.3 blocks and finished fifth in the Defensive Player of the Year voting. The following season, he led the league by averaging 3.5 blocks per game. He won the Defensive Player of the Year four times and averaged 2.3 blocks across 655 career games with the franchise.
The Pistons selected Tyler with the 23rd pick in the 1978 Draft and he made an immediate impact, averaging 12.9 points, 7.9 rebounds and 2.5 blocks during his rookie season. Tyler started his career strong, recording at least 2.0 blocks per game in each of his first five seasons. Tyler played seven seasons for the Pistons, never missing a single game. Although he finished up his career with the Kings and Mavericks, he averaged 1.9 blocks across 574 games with Detroit.
The Pistons selected Drummond with the ninth pick in the 2012 Draft. He consistently showcased his defensive potential, averaging at least 1.6 blocks per game in his first three seasons. An active player in 2024-25, Drummond has played for six different teams, with his longest tenure being over 591 games with Detroit.
Lanier was selected with the first pick in the 1970 Draft by the Pistons. He made seven All-Star teams as a member of the franchise and finished inside the top-10 in MVP voting four times. In the 1973-74 season, he averaged a career high 3.0 blocks per game. While Lanier also spent some time with the Bucks, he averaged 2.0 blocks across 681 games as a member of the Pistons.
Laimbeer began his career with a brief stint with the Cavaliers. He then made four All-Star teams after joining the Pistons and had a streak of 10 straight seasons in which he played at least 81 games. That helped him rank fifth on this list despite averaging at least 1.0 blocks in a season just five times. Across 937 career games with the Pistons, Laimbeer averaged 0.9 blocks. Laimbeer was better known for his production on the boards, posting five straight seasons in which he averaged at least 11.6 rebounds per game.
