Week 10 of the 2024 NFL season kicks off on “Thursday Night Football” with a game between the host Baltimore Ravens (6-3) and Cincinnati Bengals (4-5).
The AFC North battle features two of the top quarterbacks in the conference this season. Cincinnati’s Joe Burrow ranks third in the league in quarterback rating at 108.1 in a bounce-back season from his injury-marred 2023 campaign.
Baltimore’s Lamar Jackson, who is in the running for a third career NFL MVP award this season, leads the NFL in quarterback rating 120.7. He’s leading one of the most prolific and efficient offenses this season following his MVP award last season.
The 27-year-old is entering his prime as a passer in the next few years. Here’s what to know about his contract with the Ravens.
Jackson signed a five-year, $260 million extension ahead of the 2023 season following months of negotiations with the team. Here are the basics of the deal, per Spotrac:

Here’s his base salary each year of his current contract:
And his total cap hit for each year of his contract:
There are two void years tacked on to the end of his deal. In 2028, Jackson will have a $12.5 million cap hit; In 2029, he will have a $4.5 million cap hit. He may sign another extension before those void years and that would change the numbers.
In nine games this season, Jackson has completed 174 of 255 passes (68.2%) for 2,379 yards, 20 touchdowns, and two interceptions. On the ground, Jackson has 84 carries for 505 yards and two rushing touchdowns.
Jackson is one of nine NFL quarterback’s making at least $50 million in AAV on his contract. Dak Prescott ($60 million) is currently the NFL’s highest-paid quarterback in terms of AAV.
Jackson ranks higher in guaranteed money on his contract with Dak Prescott leading the way as part of a deal he signed prior to the 2024 NFL season.
Patrick Mahomes leads the NFL in total contract value, as the full value of his 10-year pact with the Chiefs is $450 million. Jackson’s contract just cracks the top five largest deals overall, as his five-year pact will pay him $260 million.
