The Dudhsagar Falls tours have resumed, bringing back jeep safaris that transport visitors to this iconic destination in Goa. After intervention by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) and the Dudhsagar Tour Operators’ Association (DTOA) reached a settlement on online booking disputes, allowing both online and offline bookings for the tour. Visitors can now register through GTDC’s portal or directly at DTOA counters, giving them more choices in planning their trip.
Dudhsagar Falls, translating to “Sea of Milk,” is renowned for its striking, foamy waters that cascade down from over 300 meters. Located within the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary, it ranks among India’s tallest and most powerful waterfalls. The post-monsoon season, from October to March, offers the best views, as the waterfall flows at its fullest, creating a mesmerising sight for visitors.
One of the main attractions of the tour is the jeep safari that takes visitors through the rugged Western Ghats. The journey is an adventure itself, with jeeps traversing muddy trails, shallow streams, and dense forest paths, giving a taste of the wilderness around the falls. It’s a bumpy yet exhilarating ride that adds to the overall experience of the tour.
Upon reaching the base of Dudhsagar Falls, visitors can cool off with a refreshing swim in the natural pool created by the waterfall. The sight and sound of the falls amidst lush greenery make it an ideal spot to relax and enjoy nature’s splendor. The area is surrounded by untouched wilderness, offering a quiet retreat from the bustling city life of Goa.
Dudhsagar Falls is also a paradise for photographers, with its stunning landscapes and diverse flora and fauna. This tour offers a chance to explore Goa beyond its famous beaches, uncovering the rich biodiversity of the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary. For nature lovers and adventure seekers alike, Dudhsagar Falls is a must-visit, showcasing a different, less-explored side of Goa’s natural beauty.
