NHL draft enthusiasts and scouts have another date on their calendar this season to look forward to.
The OHL’s top NHL draft-eligible prospects will go head-to-head in an East versus West showcase game called “Connor McDavid OHL Top Prospects Game.”
A brand new one-game event allowing the next line of NHL prospects coming out of the OHL to flash their skills and talent in front of NHL scouts before they hopefully hear their name called at the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.

The event is set for January 15, 2025, with Brantford serving as the host city and the game taking place at the Civic Centre.
“The OHL produced 39 players selected in the 2024 NHL Draft, the most by any league in the world,” said OHL Commissioner Bryan Crawford.
“We’ve produced more than 2,500 NHL Draft selections over the past 55 years, and this event, named after one of the league’s distinguished alumni and one of the best players to ever play the game, will only serve to build on that great tradition of development.”
62 OHL players were listed on NHL Central Scouting’s 2025 NHL Draft watch list, and those 62 players can be found here.
Offensively, the Eastern Conference team will be led by Brampton Steelheads captain Porter Martone who is up to 12 goals and 25 points in 11 games. They will also have the upper hand in net with Jack Ivankovic, who has looked razor sharp in his starts with the Steelheads this season.
The Western Conference team will counter with the league’s leading goal scorer, Michael Misa, who has netted an insane 17 goals in 13 games.
He will have the chance to reunite with his GTHL Mississauga Senators teammate and current Erie Otters forward, Malcolm Spence, creating a fast and dynamic one-two offensive combination.
Team East and Team West rosters have not been announced yet, but you can be assured those four players above will be lacing up their skates for the inaugural Connor McDavid OHL Top Prospects Game, barring any injuries.
Players chosen as MVP for their respective teams in the annual showcase will be acknowledged with the Connor McDavid 97 Award.
