11 Le Mans (Bet Now: $4.20) is a mare I have always had time for since day one. I was very keen on her at Flemington last time but she just didn’t get a chance to build the revs and it ended up being an ugly watch. Has run well at Caulfield previously, she gets B Shinn, she should get clear air, time to wind up…keen.
Danger
2 Up And Under (Bet Now: $13.00) is a quirky animal but I am convinced he has talent. He has good talent but he just has a funny action and doesn’t exactly know how to race properly, but his form in Sydney does read very well for a race like this so for mine, he commands respect.
Long Shot
5 Karburan (Bet Now: $18.00) should appreciate a rise in trip for Busuttin/Young. He resumed over the mile at Sale where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he kept finding the line and was good in defeat when third to Electric Impulse. Has good room for improvement and off the return, rates highly I say.

2 Narbold (Bet Now:
$SP.00) has found winning form and he can go on with it. Bit of credit to his win at Sale last time in a maiden when wide no cover throughout and credit to him, he was there to be beaten but he knuckled down and was strongest late to score. He’s got room for upside/improvement and showed good promise when last in work.
Danger
3 Treasurethe Moment (Bet Now: $3.30) commands respect for Matt Laurie off the back of a win over this trip at Sandown three weeks ago where she got into a sweet sit just off the speed before angling for clear air and she let down with purpose to win and win well. Heading in the right direction and confident she can measure up.
Long Shot
8 Superluminal (Bet Now: $19.00) is a three year old for Chris Waller that has good upside and comes here in winning form after a maiden win at Ballarat where he gave them a start and a beating and was impressive late in the piece. I reckon the stable have eyes on something over Cup Week, potentially the 1800m 3YO race. Keen to see how he goes.

11 Dillian (Bet Now: $7.00) is similar to Le Mans. Got a lot of time for him and I am convinced he is flying. He ran at the same Flemington maiden and again, it wasn’t the best of steers from Mark Zahra. This horse does appear one that needs time to wind into his work but he got bottled away on the fence and couldn’t get a chance to build the revs. Hopefully that eventuates here and if so, he’s hard to beat.
Danger
3 I’m A Dirty Rascal (Bet Now: $4.40) will love the rise to 2400m. He ran over 1900m at Rosehill a few weeks ago where he got back to neat last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he did make up solid headway and was pretty good in defeat. Fitter and up in trip, he’ll take beating.
Long Shot
1 Canberra Legend… (Bet Now: $41.00) is he a hurdler? Gee he has been disappointing since arriving from the UK but I will say that the saving grace could be first time racing the Melbourne way. His efforts this time in have been quite plain but with his absolute best, he is just better than these, so I say watch the market.

3 Mednyi (Bet Now: $13.00) on top for me in a race where I think the depth isn’t too bad. This girl, like most here, jumped out on the Heath track. She was on speed and although run down late, she wasn’t placed under much pressure and seemingly moved quite well. Maps ideally from a good gate, I’m happy to be in her corner.
Danger
4 The Opportunist (Bet Now: $9.50) is a Team Hayes trained colt that won the jumpout mentioned above that Mednyi contested. He was pushed out hard to win but the good thing about that is when asked for an effort, he did respond. Commands respect.
Long Shot
13 Mrs Iglesia (Bet Now: $26.00) is a filly I am keeping tabs on. The gate does make things tricky but if they go silly in front, I can see her launching at them late. I was taken by her finale in a jumpout here, getting back and making up good headway late. She’ll be back near last in the run but be charging at them late.

9 Private Jumbo (Bet Now: $5.50) doesn’t have the best of winning strike rates but he is a horse with good talent who has run well in town previously so I’m going to side his way. Totally forgiving of his run at Benalla last time when wide no cover and just feeling the pinch late. Better run in transit here, I think he’ll take holding out.
Danger
3 Big Brew (Bet Now: $23.00) is a big improver I say for Team Hope, a stable in form. This guy resumed at Sandown where he got back to near last in the run and made up minimal headway. He is a horse who does get better as the prep goes on and he does like Caulfield so for mine, he can run a much improved race at odds.
Long Shot
2 The Maggstar (Bet Now: $35.00) has done nothing since winning the Subzero during Cup Week last year but this is one of the weaker races she has contested since. Market said she’d need the run when resuming at Sandown and that’s how it panned out when down the track behind Sunset Dreaming. She is a second up winner and her best is good enough to be dangerous.

11 Poison Chalice (Bet Now: $12.00) is a quality galloper for Paul Preusker that resumes. I do think that with his best, he is Stakes class, and I say he’s here with intent given his recent trial win when leading all the way and was pushed out to win, not the norm for this stable. I’ll take a chance that he’s ready to go.
Danger
9 Verdad (Bet Now: $2.60) is getting towards D-Day. I thought he had every chance at Sandown last start to wear down Freak Of Nature but that horse had it too good on speed and was simply too good in the run to the line. Maps perfect, hard fit…nearly last chance territory.
Long Shot
10 Prince Of Helena (Bet Now: $34.00) is one to be entertained for exotics. This guy resumed behind Freak Of Nature in the race mentioned above. He got into a good spot off the speed but first up, condition just gave way late in the piece. Has eyes on the Big Dance, so may need this too, but he’s very genuine.

5 Kin (Bet Now: $3.60) looks a big price for mine. James Cummings trained mare that resumes after ending last campaign on a high with a strong win over 1100m here, beating Stakes class mare Mrs Chrissie. She’s reliable fresh, she loves the Caulfield 1100m and her jumpout work to get ready has been strong.
Danger
6 Nadal (Bet Now: $3.50) is dangerous with his best. Ciaron Maher trains this quality four year old, who resumed down the straight at Flemington where he loomed to win but first up, condition just gave way late in the piece behind Moby Dick. Back to a bending track and better for the run, he commands respect.
Long Shot
14 Sparkling (Bet Now: $17.00) is several weeks between runs for Matt Laurie since racing down the straight at Flemington when off the speed and kept finding the line in a really good effort I thought behind Moby Dick. Back to a bending track, I think her best is more than good enough be a threat at odds.

4 Touristic (Bet Now: $7.00) is flying for Peter Snowden and I say is hard to beat here. I thought he tried really hard in the Newcastle Cup but was found wanting late behind Etna Rosso. I reckon if this track has a bit of juice in it, back to 2000m and with fresh legs, he’s going to take beating.
Danger
1 Berkeley Square (Bet Now: $4.20) has to be respected as one of the key chances. He has won two on the bounce, firstly at Flemington before going to Sandown where he gave them a start and a beating in an electric performance. He’s getting back to his 3YO form, which saw him as a potential Group l talent. Leading chance.
Long Shot
3 Mankayan (Bet Now: $10.00) is an interesting runner. He resumed behind Berkeley Square at Sandown where the market said he may need the run but I didn’t think he was too bad in defeat. He has a really good second up record, fitter and up to 2000m, as well as B Shinn, he’s likeable.
