The Enniskillen Tennis Senior Club Championships, proudly sponsored by The Enniskillen Hotel, concluded this weekend, showcasing an exciting week of tennis, sportsmanship, and community spirit.

The tournament saw adult members battle it out across various categories, with impressive displays of skill and determination in both singles and doubles matches.

In the highly competitive Men’s A/B singles, Connor Donaldson emerged as the champion, overcoming Matthew McGann in a thrilling and intense final. Donaldson’s victory capped off a series of hard-fought matches on the court.

The A/B mixed doubles final also delivered a nail-biting spectacle, with Helen Kettyle and Donal Burns securing the win in a tight contest against Corrie Cadden and Noel Jackson.

In the Men’s C/D singles, returning club junior Tom Kettyles took home the title after an exhilarating final against Nick Finlay. The match went to a championship tiebreak, with Kettyles prevailing in a closely fought battle.

The Ladies C/D doubles was a Round Robin event, where Fiona Balfour and Zoe Crawford dominated by winning all four of their matches to take the crown. Meanwhile, Balfour also competed in the C/D Ladies singles but was narrowly defeated by Shannon Durnien in another championship tiebreak.

In the A/B Men’s Doubles, Connor Donaldson’s outstanding week continued as he teamed up with Simor Deller to claim victory against Matthew McGann and Jurgen Hoogerboord. The match featured exceptional play from all four players, providing a fitting finale to the event.

The A/B Ladies Doubles was another round-robin event, with Martina Boyd and Katrina Cathcart emerging as overall winners. Liz McGuinness and Niamh Webb finished as runners-up after a series of highly competitive matches.

The C/D Men’s Doubles saw Brendan Duffy and Gopinadh Pyla triumph, displaying tactical brilliance to defeat Mark Cousins and Niall Dolan. The C/D Mixed Doubles also offered a thrilling conclusion, with Sean Bogue and Zoe Crawford emerging victorious in a championship tiebreak against Adam Gannon and Michelle McQuigg.

Throughout the week, matches often stretched into overtime or tiebreaks, much to the delight of the enthusiastic spectators. The event demonstrated not only the competitive spirit of the players but also the strong sense of community within the club.
