With early access for NHL 25 now just over two weeks away the highest overall players by position are set to be revealed this week.
The first reveal will be on September 16th so today we are going to attempt to predict the 10 highest rated wingers in NHL 25.
This will likely be the year where veterans like Brad Marchand, Alex Ovechkin, and Patrick Kane begin to fall lower on these lists.
Last year’s original overall reveal can be seen here.
1. Nikita Kucherov – RW – 96
After a league-leading 144 points and becoming the fifth player to have 100 assists in a season Kucherov deserves the highest overall winger rating to begin the game.
2. David Pastrnak – RW – 95
A 47-goal, 110-point season in his first season without Patrice Bergeron, Pastrnak continued to score goals and showed great playmaking skills last season, he should be no lower than a 95.
3. Artemi Panarin – LW – 94
A career-high 49 goals and 120 points last season, Panarin brought his game up a level in 2023-24 and has earned the third spot.
4. Mikko Rantanen – RW/C – 93
Two straight 100-point seasons and over a point-per-game production in the playoffs has cemented Rantanen as one of the games elite wingers.
5. Matthew Tkachuk – LW – 93
Tkachuk had less regular season points than he had the two previous seasons but he was nearly a point-per-game in the playoffs and won the Stanley Cup which is enough to keep him at 93. He will also have the best physical attributes of any winger on this list.
6. Kirill Kaprizov – LW – 92
Three consecutive 40 goal seasons and fifth among wingers in points-per-game last season, Kaprizov is quietly one of the best offensive players in the NHL.
7. Mitchell Marner – RW – 92
Seventh in points-per-game among wingers and elite playmaking skills keep Marner at the 92 overall he was in NHL 24.
8. Jason Robertson – LW – 91
Some shooting regression hit Robertson and his 29 goals were below expectation but his skill and physical tools warrant a high rating. 91 is one below the 92 rating he finished at in NHL 24.
9. Sam Reinhart – RW/C – 91
Reinhart was listed as a primary center in NHL 24 but he spent the majority of his time-on-ice with Aleksander Barkov last season so he should be a primary winger in NHL 25. 57 goals and a Stanley Cup winning buff gets him on this list.
10. William Nylander – RW- 91
Back-to-back 40-goal seasons and the fifth-highest scoring winger last season gets Nylander an overall boost to begin the season.
