USA Today is kicking off the NFL season by naming the best NFL stadium and best NFL stadium food, and Empower Field at Mile High is in the running for the titles.
Fans will have the opportunity to decide the top 10 in each category and can vote once per day in each category at www.10best.com/awards/. Voting will close on Monday, Sept. 30 at 9:59 a.m., with the Top 10 winners announced on Wednesday, Oct. 9.
With a capacity of 76,125 and 1.7 million square feet of space, Empower Field at Mile High is one of the largest stadiums in the NFL. The stadium boasts several unique game-day traditions including “Rocky Mountain Thunder,” Miles the Mascot and Thunder, the team’s live mascot. The Broncos are also the only NFL team to have skydivers on game day.
This game-day environment has given way to the longest sellout streak for an NFL team in a single city, as the Broncos have sold out every home game since 1970.
More than $100 million has been invested in upgrading the stadium over the last two seasons, and improvements have included renovations to the videoboards, premium hospitality areas, technology, elevators and the Broncos Team Store.
Recent upgrades have focused on integrating the local Denver community within the game-day experience, and Aramark Sports + Entertainment will debut 12 restaurants and 10 new specialty items highlighting local cuisine this season. Empower Field at Mile High also added to the Stadium Artist Series presented by ARTA Tequila this season, adding two new murals to the collection of local art displayed throughout the stadium. Empower Field at Mile High also boasts nine autonomous checkout markets, mobile ordering and cashless payments.
Fans can vote for their favorite NFL stadium and NFL stadium food at www.10best.com/awards/.
