Finding a job in the current market is hard. Finding a good one can be even harder.
According to TopResume, job hunters in 2024 can expect to wait five to six months to get a job. In addition, the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ July report indicates that the market has slowed with 114,000 new jobs in July compared to an average of 215,000 for the previous 12 months.
If you’re looking for a job at a great company and a top-tier salary, U.S. News & World Report included two companies based in Iowa on its list of Best Companies to Work for based on their “top quality pay.”

F&G is a small insurance company based in Des Moines. It employs 1,165 people with an average salary ranging from $60,000 for customer service representatives to almost $200,000 for an AVP Actuary according to Indeed.
F&G ranks highest in quality of pay, work/life balance and stability. However it ranks poorly in professional development, which includes things like mobility or tuition assistance, U.S. News said.

Iowa’s Top Workplaces for 2023: See the top winners
UFG is a small health services company based in Cedar Rapids. It employs 852 people with salaries ranging from $47,000 for a claims representative to almost $200,000 for a director according to Indeed.
