Bucket list experiences are of course subjective, but to determine which ones hold the most appeal, the adventure travel company Skyhook recently surveyed travelers from around the world about which three activities would be at the top of those lists. From climbing Kilimanjaro and hot air ballooning over Cappadocia, Turkey to gorilla trekking and embarking on an Antarctica cruise, here are the bucket list adventures travelers dream of the most.
Inside Southwest Airlines’ Big Changes
Last week, Southwest Airlines announced major changes to many of its signature protocols in an effort to please customers and stave off an activist investor. In addition to ending its open seating policy after more than 50 years, Southwest will also convert roughly a third of its seats into premium seating with extended legroom and will finally begin offering red-eye flights. One change that Southwest didn’t make? Passengers can still fly with two free checked bags.

A New Extreme Hotel Takes Adventure Travel To New Heights
For those who appreciate a room with a view, the accommodations at Ovo Patagonia are transparent capsules hanging off a rock wall nearly 900 feet up. To access those rooms involves a mountain hike within Argentine Patagonia that requires helmets, harnesses and plenty of courage. “We want to make once-in-a-lifetime experiences in contact with heights and in contact with our most intimate experience of being out of our comfort zone,” says Ezequiel Ruete, cofounder of the hotel. “That’s actually our slogan: Get out of your comfort zone in comfort.”

In 2014, the United States shared the No. 1 spot with the United Kingdom on the Henley Passport Index, which ranks the world’s most powerful passports according to the number of countries holders can visit without a visa. In the most recent Henley ranking, the U.S. continued its decline, falling to No. 8 with access to 186 nations. Singapore is now the No. 1 passport—offering visa-free access to 195 destinations out of 227 around the world.
Aboard the AI-Generated Tiffany & Co. Cruise Ship
Ever wondered what a Tiffany & Co. cruise ship would look like? Grant Dudson did—and the London-based experiential art designer used the generative AI software Midjourney to create the lavish Tiffany Jewel. Fine Tiffany china and crystal chandeliers accent the ship’s restaurants, while staterooms are decorated with silks, cashmeres and high-thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets, and the balconies offer sweeping views of the ocean. If only it were real.
