The fourth-year offensive tackle bounced back in 2023 to start all 17 games after missing most of the year prior with an injury.
According to Pro Football Focus, Slater posted an 84.7 pass-blocking grade in 2024, good for fourth among players with at least 500 snaps. It was the highest mark of Slater’s career.
Slater slotted in at No. 69 on Prisco’s compilation and was the eighth offensive tackle listed as Prisco believes he can improve even more with Chargers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh at the helm.
He is outstanding in pass protection, which is key for Justin Herbert. He does need to improve some in the run game, but that will come with Jim Harbaugh as coach.
The final member of the Bolts to make the Top 100 was Khalil Mack, who wasn’t ranked in last season’s edition of the list.
Mack finished at No. 79 (third among outside linebackers) after a dominant 17.0-sack performance in his 10th season.
The veteran racked up the accolades in 2023, tying the Chargers single-season franchise sack record and setting a new career best in the process. He also recorded the second-most sacks in an age-32 or older season in NFL history.
Even going into Year 11, Mack has shown he’s still one of the NFL’s best when it comes to wreaking havoc on the edge.
After a few down seasons in terms of sack numbers, he had a career-best 17 in 2023. At 33, age is starting to be a concern, but he can still impact the passing game for the defense.
