It’s commitment season.
It’s summer, which means high school football players will be crisscrossing the country taking official visits and working out on college campuses hoping to get their dream offer.
The USA Today Florida Network is tracking the top high school football commitments across the state.
Several of the top seniors in the state have yet to announce their college choice, including Zephyrhills defensive back DJ Pickett (No. 1 USA Today Florida Network top 100).
Other notable names who still are undecided are Seminole Ridge linebacker Ty Jackson (No. 5), Mandarin wide receiver Jaime Ffrench (No. 6) and IMG linebacker Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng (No. 10).

Kentucky picked up its first Florida commitment in the 2025 cycle on Thursday night when Monarch three-star offensive tackle Bryan Auguste made his decision.
The 6-foot-6, 305-pound Auguste took an official visit to Kentucky on June 14. He also took official visits to Syracuse and Boston College.
Auguste was Monarch’s starting left tackle in 2023 when the team won 11 games and advanced to the state semifinals.
Miami’s momentum on the recruiting trail continued Thursday.
The Hurricanes picked up a commitment from Chaminade-Madonna four-star cornerback Chris Ewald.
The 6-foot, 160-pound Ewald is the No. 13 player and No. 2 cornerback on the USA Today Florida Network top 100. In addition to visiting Miami earlier this month, Ewald also took an official visit to Georgia this past weekend.
Ewald recorded 45 tackles, intercepted two passes and had 20 pass breakups in 2023.
He is the 13th Miami commit and is the second four-star recruit to pick the Hurricanes this week, joining Seminole interior offensive lineman Max Buchanan.
The Hurricanes added one of the nation’s premier interior offensive linemen on Wednesday night when Seminole’s Max Buchanan announced his commitment.
Clemson, Florida State, Ole Miss, Penn State and UCF were his other finalists.
The 6-foot-4, 275-pound Buchanan is a four-star recruit and the No. 24 player on the USA Today Florida Network top 100.
Buchanan is the 12th player to commit to Miami this cycle and the fourth in-state offensive lineman, joining Orlando Christian Prep tackle Demetrius Campbell, Fletcher interior offensive lineman Takaylen Muex and Edgewater tackle Jaden Wilkerson.
The Gators have landed one of the state’s most intriguing wide receiver prospects.
West Broward four-star recruit Joshua Moore announced his commitment to Florida on Wednesday.
Moore (6-foot-3, 205 pounds) is ranked No. 50 on the USA Today Florida Network top 100.
Moore caught 50 passes for 835 yards and nine touchdowns in 2023. In the last two seasons, Moore caught 100 passes for 1,869 yards and 20 touchdowns.
Florida now has seven commitments in its 2025 class, including four from Florida: Rickards defensive lineman Jalen Wiggins, Plant running back Waltez Clark, Gadsden County defensive lineman Jaremiah McCloud and Moore.
Tyler Williams committed to Georgia on Wednesday.
Armwood’s four-star wide receiver took an official visit to Athens this past weekend. He also took official visits to Miami, Syracuse and UCF.
The 6-foot-1, 205-pound Williams is ranked No. 48 on the USA Today Florida Network top 100.
He caught 26 passes for 585 yards and 14 touchdowns and also returned five kicks for scores at Sumner in 2023.
Williams is the first Florida player to commit to the Bulldogs in the 2025 cycle.
Miami Northwestern three-star defensive lineman Eric Thomas announced his commitment to Syracuse on Tuesday night.
The 6-foot-5, 325-pound Thomas took official visits to Syracuse, South Carolina and Marshall in June. He also has offers from Georgia, Ole Miss, Toledo, USF and others.
Lee had a breakout season at East Lee County in 2023 with 35 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, two sacks and a forced fumble.
Gadsden County three-star offensive tackle Lamar Williams committed to Maryland on Monday.
The 6-foot-6, 270-pound Williams took an official visit to Maryland earlier this month. Williams was committed to Miami for three months before decommitting in May.
Williams was credited with 48 pancake blocks for Gadsden County in 2023.
Maryland now has commitments from four Florida players: Edison cornerback Jett White, Chaminade-Madonna defensive lineman Donta Simpson, Lakeland offensive tackle Ben Beymer and Williams.
NC State keeps finding success in Florida.
The Wolfpack picked up a commitment from Plantation-American Heritage defensive lineman Omarian Abraham on Monday. He joins a NC State recruiting class that already has commitments from Santaluces defensive back Caden Gordon, Flagler Palm Coast defensive lineman Colby Cronk and Santaluces wide receiver Jamar Browder.
The 6-foot-1, 275-pound Abraham took an official visit to NC State this past weekend. He racked up 75 tackles, 14 tackles for loss and three sacks in 2023.
UCF flipped Tampa Bay Tech cornerback Rukeem Stroud on Monday.
Stroud, who committed to Wisconsin on June 2, announced he would instead attend UCF just two days after being offered by the Knights.
The 5-foot-11, 160-pound Stroud is ranked No. 41 on the USA Today Florida Network top 100. He is the 10th player in UCF’s 2025 class and the sixth from Florida. Tampa Bay Tech wide receiver Santonyo Isaac also is committed to the Knights.
Stroud had 18 tackles, six interceptions and 17 pass breakups for the Titans in 2023.
The IMG to Michigan pipeline continues.
IMG interior offensive lineman Kaden Strayhorn committed to the Wolverines on Sunday. IMG running back Donovan Johnson also committed to Michigan on Sunday.
The 6-foot-3, 295-pound Strayhorn is No. 71 on the USA Today Florida Network top 100.
The list of players from IMG who have gone to Michigan includes quarterback JJ McCarthy, offensive lineman Greg Crippen, safety Keon Sabb, cornerback DJ Turner, center Cesar Ruiz and linebacker Jordan Anthony.
Miami’s strong recruiting week continued Sunday with another local commitment.
Miami Central three-star linebacker Ezekiel Marcelin announced his commitment to the Hurricanes on Sunday. He is the fourth Miami commit in the past six days — a list that includes Rockets teammate Amari Wallace.
The 6-foot, 190-pound Marcelin is ranked No. 58 on the USA Today Florida Network top 100. He led Miami Central with 109 tackles, to go along with 19 tackles for loss, 12 sacks and two forced fumbles in 2023.
Marcelin is the 11th player in the Hurricanes’ 2025 class.
Michigan had another big recruiting win in Florida on Sunday.
IMG running back Donovan Johnson, ranked No. 51 on the USA Today Florida Network top 100, announced his commitment to the Wolverines. His announcement comes five days after Cocoa junior quarterback Brady Hart picked Michigan.
The 6-foot, 205-pound Johnson missed all of last season while recovering from a knee injury but is a big back with track speed when healthy.
Johnson also had offers from Georgia, Florida State, Ohio State, Tennessee, USC and others. He is the second Florida player in the Wolverines 2025 class, joining Bishop Verot quarterback Carter Smith.
Donta Simpson will be a Terrapin.
Chaminade-Madonna’s 6-foot-3, 270-pound defensive lineman verbally committed to Maryland on Sunday. Simpson is the third Florida player in Maryland’s 2025 class, joining Edison cornerback Jett White and Lakeland offensive tackle Ben Beymer.
Simpson, a three-star recruit, took official visits to Maryland, FAU and Illinois this month.
Simpson recorded 43 tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, forced three fumbles and recovered two for Chaminade’s Class 1M state championship team in 2023.
Cape Coral three-star safety Darrion Jones committed to Kansas on Saturday.
The 6-foot-2, 175-pound Jones took his official visit to Kansas this weekend. He also has offers from Iowa State, Kentucky, Louisville and others.
Jones had 34 tackles, four tackles for loss, three interceptions and broke up a pass in eight games for Cape Coral in 2023. He played for Dunbar’s Class 3S state semifinal team in 20222.
Jones is the second Florida commit in Kansas’ class, joining Pace tight end Joeseph Skipworth.
Another day, another Central Florida offensive tackle committing to a Power 5 programs.
East River tackle Djoni Scatliffe announced his commitment to Syracuse on Saturday. He joins Orlando Christian Prep’s Demetrius Campbell (Miami), Edgewater tackle Jaden Wilkerson (Miami) and Lake Mary tackle Tanner Jumpp (Northwestern) in announcing their decision this week.
The 6-foot-7, 270-pound Scatliffe took an official visit to Syracuse this weekend.
South Sumter three-star cornerback George Mullins committed to Michigan State on Saturday.
The 6-foot-2, 170-pound Mullins is ranked No. 73 on the USA Today Florida Network top 100. Mullins was on an official visit to Michigan State this weekend.
Mullins recorded 27 tackles to go along with two interceptions and 10 passes defended in 2023. He also caught four passes for 120 yards and a touchdown.
Miami Central wide receiver Kha’leal Sterling committed to Pitt on Saturday.
The 5-foot-9, 165-pound Sterling to an official visit to Pittsburgh this weekend. He also has offers from Arizona State, Arkansas, Oregon, West Virginia and others.
Sterling had 29 catches in 2023 and led Central with 650 receiving yards, 22.4 yards per catch and eight touchdowns.
Wisconsin strikes again.
The Badgers, who already have commitments from Tampa Bay Tech cornerback Rukeem Stroud and Monsignor Pace edge/defensive lineman Wilnerson Telemaque, picked up a commitment from Buchholz edge rusher Nicholas Clayton on Saturday.
The 6-foot-5, 205-pound Clayton is ranked No. 77 on the USA Today Florida Network top 100. In addition to Wisconsin, Clayton also took official visits to Nebraska, UCF, Tulane and Florida State.
Clayton recorded 52 tackles, eight tackles for loss, three sacks, 10 quarterback pressures and two pass breakups in 2023.
One of the state’s premier edge rushers is headed to Louisiana.
Robinson four-star recruit LaJesse Harrold, ranked the No. 2 edge rusher and No. 18 overall player on the USA Today Florida Network top 100, announced his commitment to LSU on Saturday. He took an official visit to LSU last weekend,
The 6-foot-5, 230-pound Harrold had 42 tackles and led Robinson with 18 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks in 2023.
Harrold has more than two dozen offers, including Florida, Georgia, Miami, South Carolina and Texas A&M.
Lake Mary offensive/defensive lineman Tanner Jumpp announced his commitment to Northwestern early Saturday morning.
It was a quick decision for the 6-foot-3, 255-pound Jumpp, who was offered by the Wildcats on Thursday. Rivals reported that Jumpp is being recruited to play defensive line for Northwestern.
Jumpp also had offers from Air Force, Army, Brown, Cornell, Dartmouth, UMass and others.
Another day, another in-state commitment for Miami.
Miami Central four-star safety Amari Wallace announced his commitment to the Hurricanes on Thursday night. He is the third player to commit to Miami in as many days, joining Orlando Christian Prep offensive tackle Demetrius Campbell and Edgewater offensive tackle Jaden Wilkerson.
The 5-foot-11 Wallace is rated No. 44 on the USA Today Florida Network top 100. He had 28 tackles and led the nationally-ranked Rockets with three interceptions and six passes broken up.
Miami continues to bolster its offensive line with in-state talent.
Edgewater three-star tackle Jaden Wilkerson committed to the Hurricanes on Wednesday. He is the second Hurricanes commitment in as many days — Orlando Christian Prep tackle Demetrius Campbell committed on Tuesday — and is the third offensive lineman to pick Miami in the past five weeks.
The 6-foot-7, 330-pound Wilkerson played at Lake Nona in 2023.
Miami Northwestern safety Antonio Branch Jr. committed to Penn State on Wednesday. The 6-foot-2, 172-pound Branch is ranked No. 68 on the USA Today Florida Network top 100.
Branch, a three-star recruit, took an official visit to Penn State on May 31. His offer list also includes Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Louisville, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska and UCF.
Branch recorded 28 tackles, had one interception and broke up one pass at Booker T. Washington in 2023.
West Virginia adds another one.
The Mountaineers picked up a commitment Tuesday night from Gaither three-star cornerback Serious Stinyard. He is the fourth Florida player to commit to West Virginia this month, joining Atlantic running back Deandre Desinor, Monarch edge Romando Johnson and Auburndale safety Sammy Etienne.
The 5-foot-11, 180-yard Stinyard took an official visit to West Virginia on May 31. He also has offers from Kansas, Kansas State, Kentucky, NC State and others.
Stinyard had 19 tackles, three interceptions, five interceptions and one blocked kick for Gaither regional championship team in 2023.
Orlando Christian Prep offensive lineman Demetrius Campbell announced his commitment to Miami on Tuesday night.
The three-star recruit took an official visit to Miami earlier this month. He also visited UCF and Rutgers in June.
The 6-foot-6, 300-pound Campbell also had offers from Boston College, Duke, Georgia Tech, Iowa State, Ole Miss, UCF and others.
He is the eighth player to commit to the Hurricanes and the program’s second offensive line commitment.
Wilnerson Telemaque announced his commitment to Wisconsin on Tuesday afternoon.
The three-star Monsignor Pace defensive lineman/edge rusher chose the Badgers over Georgia Tech and West Virginia. Telemaque took official visits to all three schools this month.
Telemaque recorded 16 tackles, three tackles for loss, three sacks and broke up a pass in 2023.
He is the second Florida player to commit to the Badgers this cycle, joining Tampa Bay Tech cornerback Rukeem Stroud.
Mississippi State’s strong weekend is carrying over the early part of the week.
Mosley safety Lo’Kavion Jackson announced his commitment to play for the Bulldogs on Tuesday morning. Jackson, who saw his recruitment pick up at the end of the spring, is the eighth overall player and second from Florida to commit to Mississippi State in the past four days.
The 6-foot-2, 195-pound Jackson also had offers from Miami, West Virginia, Troy and Jacksonville State.
Middleburg defensive lineman BJ Carter will be a Cyclone.
The 6-foot-4, 235-pound Carter announced his commitment to Iowa State on Monday. He took an official visit to the campus this past weekend.
Carter recorded 40 tackles, five tackles for loss, two sacks and 10 quarterback hurries in seven games in 2023. He led the team in tackles for loss and was tied for team lead in sacks.
Carter also had offers from NC State, West Virginia, UConn, East Carolina and Georgia Southern. He is the first Florida player to commit to Iowa State this cycle.
Another week, another Florida recruit committing to West Virginia.
Auburndale three-star safety Sammy Etienne announced his commitment to the Mountaineers on Monday morning. He joins a class that already includes Atlantic running back Deandre Desinor and Monarch edge rusher Romando Johnson.
The 5-foot-11, 175-pound Etienne took an official visit to West Virginia on the first weekend in June and visited Kansas State this past weekend. He also had offers from Colorado, Marshall, UAB and USF.
Etienne recorded 59 tackles, four pass breakups and an interception in 2023.
Kansas State didn’t sign any Florida players last year. It is working hard to make sure that changes this cycle.
Victory Christian three-star cornerback Jojo Scott announced his commitment to play for the Wildcats on Sunday afternoon. He is the second Florida player to commit to Kansas State in the past week, joining IMG wide receiver Adonis Moise.
The 6-foot-1, 175-pound Scott recorded 17 tackles, a team-best three interceptions forced a fumble and recovered a fumble last season. He also tied for third on the team with 14 catches for 233 yards and three touchdowns.
The Florida to Rutgers pipeline continues.
Fleming Island three-star defensive back Kaylib Singleton announced his commitment to the Big Ten program on Sunday morning.
Singleton is the fifth Florida player to commit to Rutgers this cycle. He joins Raines defensive lineman Jyon Simon, Carrollwood Day offensive lineman Gerrick Gordon, Mosley edge rusher Raedyn Bruens and Creekside quarterback Jyon Simon. Eight Florida recruits signed with Rutgers’ 2024 class.
The 6-foot-1, 173-pound Singleton recorded 27 tackles and an interception in 2022. He is the younger brother of Florida State running back Samuel Singleton Jr.
Sekou Smith Jr. will be a Bulldog.
Miami Central’s three-star safety/athlete announced his commitment to Mississippi State during his official visit on Saturday. He is one of four players to commit to the Bulldogs on Saturday.
The 6-foot-1, 170-pound Smith had 28 tackles, three tackles for loss a sack, an interception and five passes defended in 2023. He intercepted a pass and broke up two others in 2022, when Central won the national championship.
Smith had several Power 4 offers, including Arizona, Louisville, Miami and Missouri.
Arkansas landed one of the state’s top offensive tackles in Osceola three-star recruit Connor Howes.
The 6-foot-6, 295-pound Howes, who recently transferred to Osceola from St. Cloud, announced his decision late Friday afternoon. Howes is No. 82 on the USA Today Florida Network top 100.
Howes took an official visit to Arkansas on May 31. He also visited Rutgers during the first weekend in June.
Another Santaluces star is heading to NC State.
Three-star cornerback Caden Gordon announced his commitment to the Wolfpack on Wednesday. The announcement comes four days after teammate Jamar Browder committed to NC State.
The 6-foot-1, 170-pound Gordon is No. 96 on the USA Today Florida Network top 100. He also had offers from Florida State, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Louisville and others.
Gordon, a former wide receiver, had 16 tackles, two tackles for loss and an interception in eight games last season.
NC State now has four Florida players in its 2025 class: Flagler Palm Coast defensive lineman Colby Cronk, Vero Beach cornerback RJ Jones, Browder and Gordon.
Benjamin School tight end Preston Douglas committed to South Carolina on Wednesday.
The 6-foot-3, 230-pound Douglas is a three-star recruit. He took an official visit to South Carolina this past weekend. His offer list included Indiana, Maryland, NC State, Syracuse, Wake Forest and others.
Douglas played at Jupiter the past two seasons. He caught 23 passes for 405 yards and led the team with eight touchdown catches in seven games last season.
Preston is the first Florida player to commit to the Gamecocks this cycle.
Pace three-star tight end Jospeh Skipworth announced his committed to Kansas on Wednesday morning.
The 6-foot-5, 220-pound took an official visit to Lawrence this past weekend. He also had offers from Boston College, Illinois, Mississippi State, Pitt and others.
Skipworth caught 11 passes and led Pace with 240 receiving yards and five touchdowns in 2023. He also averaged 8.0 points, 8.1 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.4 assists per game for Pace’s basketball team this past season.
IMG defensive lineman Alexander McPherson committed to Oklahoma State on Tuesday.
The 6-foot-4, 245-pound McPherson started his high school career at Martin County. He was a second-team selection on TCPalm’s 2022 all-area team after recording 53 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and seven sacks.
McPherson also had offers from Indiana, Maryland, Michigan State, Pitt and others.
Three-star wide receiver Adonis Moise announced his commitment to Kansas State on Tuesday.
The 6-foot, 170-pound Moise took an official visit to Kansas State this past weekend. He has more than a dozen offers, including Boston College, Indiana, UCF, Vanderbilt and West Virginia.
Moise started his high school career at Palmetto before transferring to IMG before his junior season.
Chase Collier is headed to Baylor.
Bolles’ 6-foot-1, 170-pound wide receiver announced his commitment Monday afternoon on X.
Collier had previously announced a top three of Baylor, Kansas and Michigan State. He took an official visit to Baylor this past weekend.
Collier caught 32 passes for 571 yards and six touchdowns in 2023. He set single-game career bests against Bishop Kenny in October when he caught five passes for 104 yards. He also had a pair of two-touchdown performances last fall, including Bishop Moore in the regional championship game.
A multi-sport athlete, Collier was a member of Bolles’ Class 2A state championship 4×100-meter relay team and the 4×400 relay team, which placed third at state last month.
If Collier signs with Baylor, he will be the first Florida high school player to sign with the Bears since Miami Central’s Alfonzo Allen in the 2022 class.
Romando Johnson is headed to West Virginia.
Monarch’s 6-foot-3, 250-pound edge rusher announced his commitment to West Virginia on Monday after his official visit.
Johnson, ranked No. 65 on the USA Today Florida Network top 100, is the second high-profile recruit from Florida to commit to West Virginia in as many weeks. Atlantic running back Deandre Desinor (No. 30 top 100) committed on June 3.
Johnson played at Wellington as a sophomore, then transferred to Palm Beach Central but ended up playing for Salem (NJ) before returning to Florida. He recorded 19 tackles, three sacks and a fumble recovery at Salem.
