Do the Los Angeles Rams have a top QB-WR combo in the league? If so, is it Mattew Stafford and Cooper Kupp? Or would it be Stafford and Puka Nacua? If I am reading the PFF article (linked down below) correctly then it seems like the writer expects Stafford and Kupp and return to form. I am of the opinion that Puka is the new WR1. But we’ll see. Perhaps Kupp still has a trick or two in his bag and maybe a few more up his sleeve.
Please let us know your thoughts, comment on whatever you want and happy Friday! We made it!
“Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford and wide receiver Cooper Kupp have been named one of PFF’s top-10 QB-WR duos prior to the 2024 NFL season. While Stafford-Puka Nacua is another emerging combination after Nacua’s record-setting rookie year, Stafford-Kupp made the list over them.
Stafford-Kupp were listed after Miami Dolphins’ Tua Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill, and Cincinnati Bengals’ Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase. While the Stafford-Kupp connection has been limited due to injuries over the last two years, they’ve made a historic impact when healthy and on the field together.”
“MATTHEW STAFFORD TO COOPER KUPP
Another combination afflicted by injuries, we have nevertheless seen Stafford and Kupp cook to record-breaking levels when both are healthy. Those injuries have now given the connection competition within the same offense, with Stafford to Puka Nacua another devastating duo last season. But Kupp remains his favorite target.
In his first game back, Kupp saw 13 targets against Philadelphia to Nacua’s 11. And with a fully healthy season in 2024, he will likely be Stafford’s top guy again. Kupp does the majority of his damage from the slot (63.3% of his career snaps) and is just two years removed from totaling 2,425 receiving yards and 22 touchdowns, including the playoffs.”
“The LA Rams know that their kickoff and kickoff return units are in a bit of flux right now. That’s thanks to the new wild and whacky NFL kickoff rules changes, changes that have befuddled ST Coordinators to the point where there is no consensus formed as to the best approach to take to leverage the new rules to give the team an advantage.
As such, with 32 NFL teams and 32 different Special Team Coordinators in the league, you can expect as many as 32 different interpretations as to which methods, strategies, and tactics prove to be the best approach for the 2024 NFL season. While many Rams fans may be intrigued by the tactics used by other teams, the person you are likely most interested in hearing from is LA Rams ST Coordinator Chase Blackburn. And you will have that opportunity in the Rams YouTube video embedded below, as of the 10:40 mark.”

At Georgia, Vandagriff was a backup behind Stetson Bennett, then behind Carson Beck. After transferring to Kentucky, he’s finally a starter.
