Hard to get away from 1 Street Band (Bet Now: $4.40). Trevor Andrews trained juvenile that bolted up fresh at Ascot three weeks ago, giving them a start and a beating, winning by a space, running fast late splits and overcame a betting drift. Fitter and up to 1200m, if he can overcome the tricky draw, he likely wins again.
Danger
If there is a 1400m-1600m race around the corner, 4 Pond Master (Bet Now: $17.00) would be a good thing. He looks a really nice horse that debuted over 1300m at Pinjarra where he got back to near last in the run and despite being quite green in the straight, he really caught the eye late in the piece. Back to 1200m, he likely settles near last but will be stronger than most at the end.
Long Shot
6 Exceed The Planet (Bet Now: $51.00) is a son of Exceedance for Susan Olive that is on debut. This guy has had extensive trial work to get ready for start one, dating back to January. Two trials this time in to get ready and each time he has improved. Not sure he has the quality to win but can certainly run top four.

6 Lucky’s Way (Bet Now: $3.60) for me. On the seven day back up for Simon Miller after racing last Saturday where she got a fair way out of her ground but I loved the way she closed her race off late in the piece behind Crippalenko. If she can settle closer, or get a drag into the race, she can launch at them late.
Danger
4 Climb On Top (Bet Now: $4.40) is a son of Demerit that resumes for Team Pearce. This guy is first up, having not raced since Dec 23 over the mile at Ascot where he raced like a tired horse, looking for the paddock behind Civvy Street. He is a previous first up winner and with two trials under the belt, the intent is there.
Long Shot
9 Mr Mt Walker (Bet Now: $11.00) creates interest at odds. He resumes for Mick Grantham, with his last run coming here on Dec 6 when down the track and looking a tired horse behind Cable Guy. I have really liked the way he has trialled leading in and although 1200m is on the short side, he’ll be strong late.

1000m horse in a 1000m race = 2 Ginnivan (Bet Now: $10.00) for me. Jim Taylor trained three year old that resumed three weeks ago over this trip at Ascot where he had the suck run in behind and looked to be a serious winning threat but didn’t get clear air in the straight so forgive and forget the run. Good record at Ascot and if he finds the front, he’ll take running down.
Danger
6 Miss Flirtatious (Bet Now: $5.50) has a good racing style and will look the winner at some stage I am sure. This girl ran at Belmont two weeks ago when attempting to lead throughout and tried her guts out but just found one better in Too Dardy. End of 1000m on speed is the test but she has the right racing pattern.
Long Shot
5 Last Stylebender (Bet Now: $4.20) has a bit to learn but I do think he has an engine under the hood. He debuted over 1000m at Ascot a few weeks back where he did plenty wrong in the run but once balanced up in the straight, he found the line with real purpose and was very good in defeat when a narrow second to Lost City. If he’s within range, I am sure he has the finale to be dangerous.

8 Zephyra (Bet Now: $5.50) has found winning form and she can certainly go on with it. The win came three weeks ago over 1400m at Ascot where she got into a decent spot just off the speed before angling into clear air and she let down with purpose to win and win well. Tricky gate, but like her staying at 1400m and off a win, she’ll do me.
Danger
3 Multinational (Bet Now: $4.80) loves the track/distance and comes here off a win. That win was a fortnight back over 1200m here, leading throughout and credit to him, he was there to be beaten but he found under pressure, fended them off and was too good. Up to 1400m is fine, he looks the leader and with front end control, will take running down.
Long Shot
5 Demolish (Bet Now: $13.00) is dangerous with his best. He resumed behind stablemate Multinational two weeks back here and was quite plain I thought. He had a suck run in behind but didn’t finish the race off at all. Better set up here with the rise in trip and he does have quality. Not penning him yet.

2 Triple Jay (Bet Now: $7.50) is several weeks between runs for Team Pearce since racing over 1200m at Ascot where he got into a dream spot behind the speed before angling clear, despite being held at times, and when clear he was dominant late in the piece. The break between runs should be fine for him and he does have a strong track/distance record.
Danger
7 Vogue’s Choice (Bet Now: $23.00) is a daughter of Patronize that resumes for Hayden Ballantyne. This mare hasn’t been seen since Sep 23 at this track/distance when too keen on speed and tired late to finish down the track behind Sentimental Hero. She is a mare who does save her best for Belmont, she goes well fresh and has trialled nicely.
Long Shot
6 Sentimental Hero (Bet Now: $11.00) is the watch horse. He won that race mentioned above and then went down the Railway qualification path, which didn’t eventuate and he was a tired horse by the end. Likely spots them a start but if they overdo it on speed, he’ll be launching at them late.

8 Final Siren (Bet Now: $2.80) is a talented three year old that resumes. His last run came on Feb 4 at Bunbury in a Listed race when leading and gave a decent sight but 1200m at that level was a bridge too far when down the track behind Petula. Fresh legs, back to 1000m and back to benchmark grade, sharp trial…all points to him running a beauty.
Danger
3 Colossal (Bet Now: $13.00) is a son of Snitzel that resumes for Team Williams. He is first up, having not raced since October 28 at Ascot when back in the run and making up solid headway without threatening behind Amber Glide. 1000m is on the shorter side, but he’ll be strong late and has a touch of quality about him.
Long Shot
7 Category Three (Bet Now: $26.00) is a Michael Grantham trained mare that resumes. This girl is first up, having not raced since Jan 20 when down the track at Ascot behind Gift Of The Heart. Tends to race best on the fresh side, trialled well leading in…I say watch the market and see what it does.

4 Celebrity Prince (Bet Now: $3.90) looks to be in for a good prep and fitter, up to 1200m, it points to him I feel to get a second up win. He resumed over 1000m here two weeks ago where he got a fair way out of his ground but worked home with real purpose in a strong return behind Too Dardy. Maps okay and up in trip, he should be strong at the end and take this out.
Danger
6 Dance Boss (Bet Now: $4.60) is three weeks between runs for Simon Miller since racing over 1200m at Ascot where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never really a winning threat, he made up good ground and was strong in defeat when fourth to Rockin’ Rupert. If he’s within range on the turn, he has the finale to win.
Long Shot
2 Vampi At Play (Bet Now: $8.50) has found winning form and she can certainly maintain it. She got a win on the board at Ascot several weeks ago, getting a sweet sit in transit behind the speed before angling clear and knuckled down with purpose to win and win well. Her confidence is up, she can go on with it.

1 Western Empire (Bet Now: $1.75) is getting back to the level that saw him become the best horse in WA for a period of time and the mantle is there with no Amelia’s Jewel/Bustling. I think he can get the mantle again. He has been superb since joining Team Williams, his win in the Belmont Sprint two weeks ago being enormous when giving them a start and a beating. He’ll love the step up to the mile and if within range…good luck beating him.
Danger
10 Magnificent Andy (Bet Now: $12.00) is a beauty for Stephen Miller and has to be respected. He tried his guts out in the Belmont Sprint and did surge late, but couldn’t quite get the win when second to Western Empire. The rise to the mile suits that horse more so than this guy, but he’s so genuine and can settle much closer.
Long Shot
2 Valour Road (Bet Now: $13.00) won this race three years ago. Just not sure where he is at. He resumed in the Belmont Sprint where he was wide with cover and seemingly had his chance but he stayed on and wasn’t too bad in defeat behind Western Empire. He maps to get a better run in transit, he loves Belmont…doubt he wins, but a first four threat.

It’s hard to get away from 1 Fat Roy Slim (Bet Now: $4.20). He’s flying for Brock Lewthwaite, winning three on the bounce. Latest win was two weeks ago over 2100m here where he came from last, was able to slice his way through the field and under a peach from Pike, he was able to win. Not sure he has got much upside but he only has to hold his form to go close again.
Danger
6 Citino (Bet Now: $4.40) is in a purple patch for Mick Grantham and commands respect. He put together a couple of nice wins before going to 1800m at Ascot three weeks ago where he tried his guts out but had to settle for a narrow second to a nice horse, Allez Allez. The query is 2200m but in terms of brilliance, he’s #1 seed.
Long Shot
12 Mystical Man (Bet Now: $19.00) tends to race best away from metro level but with an on speed racing style, he’ll give cheek. Gutsy on speed win at Northam where he was there to be beaten but he found under pressure to fend them off and get the job done. Not sure he wins, but he can pinch a first four spot.
BEST BET: Race Eight Number 1 Western Empire
NEXT BEST: Race Nine Number 1 Fat Roy Slim
LONG SHOT: Race Six Number 8 Final Siren
