Tasracing is renewing efforts to ban Tasmania’s top harness racing trainer, Ben Yole, and three associates after a court ruling cleared the way.
Named in a damning report by racing expert Ray Murrihy, they have until Thursday to argue against the ban.
Tasracing’s CEO, Andrew Jenkins, emphasised the need for submissions before a final decision.
Meanwhile, the equity in participation policy for harness racing has been revised, aiming to enhance competition by limiting the dominance of certain stables.
Minister for Racing, Jane Howlett, stressed the urgency for action following findings of team driving and race fixing.
An independent panel continues to review the matter, while Yole Stables denies any wrongdoing.
