“SEGA” is very famous in the gaming industry, and so it has an amazing rich history with some of the most iconic games ever created. Most of these games have long been overshadowed by newer releases, yet the nostalgic feel remains among fans. As the industry moves forward, it would be great if any of the classic titles could get a makeover and be brought to the mainstream once again. Here are five SEGA games deserving a total remake.
Skies of Arcadia
Skies of Arcadia came out on Sega Dreamcast in 2000 and is now known as the cult-classic RPG; it involves following a crew of sky pirates as they go treasure hunting and battle. It was a unique setting combined with rich world-building. A remake with enhanced graphics and a more detailed world would resurrect the game before yet again giving life to a whole new generation of gamers.
Comix Zone
In the case of Comix Zone (1995), it was a radical experiment that used comic graphics to accompany side-scrolling action. A player controls a comic artist trapped within his creation, fighting enemies across various comic panels. With its redesign and very hardcore difficulty, “Comix Zone” definitely makes it a remake candidate. A modernized version, on the other hand, could extend the comic-inspired spaces, develop a fuller combat system, and balance the difficulty just enough to also cater to a wider audience.
Fantasy Zone
Fantasy Zone was first launched in 1991. However, the first introductory player to Opa-Opa was that character in the game, as that was SEGA’s first official mascot as well. The game’s flavor in shooting but exploring does make it more different and is, thus, usually disregarded after that. A remake could bring Opa-Opa’s game to life: a making-of gameplay could be in 2D or 3D, with modern-day roguelike interpretations and updated visuals. Fantasy Zone remakes will embrace nostalgia, plus the newness of its design with its snappiness and whimsy.
Nights Into Dreams
“NiGHTS Into Dreams” was one of the best titles created for the SEGA Saturn. It provided players with a nice dreamland with all the flying and platforming that one would care for. While it has indeed received a minor remake sometime back in 2008, there’s still plenty of room left for a more complete overhaul in modern-day terms. Updated graphics, quality-of-life improvements, and much deeper storytelling are among the features that should be available in a full remake to finally bring “Nights” back to the forefront again.
Cyber Troopers Virtual On
Cyber Troopers Virtual On was actually the future in gaming; not another boring simulation of robot-on-robot combat but incredibly fast and superb-and-dynamic gameplay. Today, giant robot games have a massive following; a brand-new remake would put fire under the title again. Whether going back to its tournament roots or expanding it into something larger, a modernized version would certainly tantalize many fans of mech combat.
