3 Pop Magic (Bet Now: $7.50) will do me in the opener. Ella Clarke trained gelding that ran over this track/distance just over three weeks ago where he got wide no cover and that hard run just told late in the piece. Maps to get a much better run in transit IMO and with his best, he takes beating I say.
Danger
The dreaded Bar Plates are on 5 Patriotic King (Bet Now: $5.50) but he is a horse who looks to have come back in really good order. He resumed over 1100m here when holding a forward spot, dug up to do so, and credit to him, he was there to be beaten but he found under pressure to fend them off and win. He’ll press forward…just a slight query at 1200m but with his racing style, he’ll give himself every chance.
Long Shot
7 Mathematics (Bet Now: $35.00) will be strong late if they overdo it on speed. He ran over 1100m here last Wednesday where he just found them a bit sharp but wasn’t too bad late in the piece. Like him up to 1200m and if he can be within range, he has the finale to be dangerous.

2 Collision (Bet Now: $4.20) on top. Neil Dyer trained gelding that resumed over 1100m here. He did a bit of early work on speed and he tried hard but found one better in impressive winner Captain George. Better for the run, up to 1200m and with Noel Callow to steer, he’s the one for me.
Danger
3 Debating (Bet Now: $2.80) has done little wrong this time in and rates highly. Both runs back have come at this track/distance, bolting up fresh before a game second to Lotto Fight last Saturday after doing work on speed. Same scenario again more than likely but third up from a spell, he should be hard fit.
Long Shot
11 Fly Nice (Bet Now: $26.00) looks suited back to 1200m after racing over 1300m here last time out when on speed and just copped too much heat in front, feeling the pinch late in the piece. Back in trip I like and with a more economical run in transit, she’s dangerous at odds.

Hard to get away from 2 Change Is Coming (Bet Now: $1.95). Garry Clarke trained gelding that resumed over 1000m here last Saturday in the first run for the camp after formerly being with Jason Warren in Victoria. He was just far too good for them, landing on speed and he just kept running for a dominant win. Extra 100m no issue, he’s one of the better bets on the card.
Danger
5 Polarising (Bet Now: $7.00) is on the quick back up after racing last Wednesday here. He got back off the speed and kept chasing from the outset but was no match late for impressive winner Adelaide Fever. If she can settle closer in the run, she’s going to take holding out.
Long Shot
9 Real Valentia (Bet Now: $10.00) is dangerous here. This gelding ran last Wednesday at this track/distance where he got into a decent spot on speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through. I think with a bunny to chase, he’ll be far more effective.

9 Canton Kid (Bet Now: $5.00) is the way I am leaning. Lisa Whittle trained gelding that ran over 1100m here last time out when wide and doing work in the run but he kept finding the line in an excellent effort behind Ideas Man. Great record at this track, he’ll be strong late…likeable for sure.
Danger
3 Doc O’Connor (Bet Now: $4.00) is a Garry Clarke trained gelding that has been kept on ice, having not raced since July 6 when racing over 1100m here where he just did too much work on speed and tired to finish down the track. His best is more than good enough so watch the market.
Long Shot
7 Rising Sphere (Bet Now: $9.50) is capable with his best. He ran last Saturday over 1100m here when back last and run off his legs early and while he was never threatening he did make up ground and was quite good in defeat. He’ll be spotting them a start but should be strong late.
Chances are you’re about to lose.

1 Fortis In Armis (Bet Now: $11.00) is worth an each way bet here. He has been somewhat of an enigma throughout his career but he is a horse who does have talent. He ran over this track/distance a few weeks ago where he was never a winning threat after getting back in the run but I really liked the way he finished his race off in defeat. Froggy on, if he can be within range, he can launch late.
Danger
4 Pacadow (Bet Now: $6.00) has found winning form and he can certainly go on with it. That win came at this track/distance, doing work to find the front but he found under pressure and in the end, he was just far too good for them. He can go on with it in what looks a winnable race.
Long Shot
9 Whitten (Bet Now: $16.00) should love the rise to the mile. Philip Cole trained gelding that ran over 1300m here a couple of weeks back where he got back in the run and while he was never really a winning threat, his finale was more than sound, racing as if he’ll eat up the trip and takes beating.

3 Pink Panther (Bet Now: $3.20) is the one to beat I feel. He has done a really good job since joining Garry Clarke, the latest run being over the mile here last Saturday where he got a fair way back but really liked the way he found the line late in the piece. He wouldn’t look out of place in the Darwin Cup but that said, he looks extremely hard to beat here.
Danger
5 Ziggi Rocks (Bet Now: $3.20) should be suited back to the mile. He ran over 2050m here last time out when on speed throughout and tried his guts out but i just think the end of 2050m just saw him out. With a more economical run in transit, he’s dangerous enough for sure.
Long Shot
9 Daniher (Bet Now: $7.00) rates as a knockout chance. He ran over this track/distance last Saturday where he just got too far back in the run and while he was never a threat, his finale was more than sound in defeat. If he can be within range, he has the finale to launch.

12 Ariarne (Bet Now:
$SP.00) gets the nod. Neil Dyer trained mare that ran last Wednesday at this track/distance, producing sustained speed from the front and gave nothing else a look in, winning by over a six lengths and was far too good. Harder here, more depth, but with her racing style, she’ll give herself every chance.
Danger
1 American Jazz (Bet Now: $5.00) should love the rise to 1300m. Garry Clarke trained gelding that ran over 1000m here where he just got too far back but loved the way he found the line late in the piece. Better for the run and up in trip, he should be quite strong late.
Long Shot
6 Ankle Rolex (Bet Now: $13.00) should appreciate a rise to 1300m and can threaten at odds. He resumed over 1100m here when back in the run and made up solid headway without threatening behind Patriotic King. Good track/distance record, he can take this out.

1 Bon’s Pride (Bet Now: $2.80) on top but not really a race I want to get involved in. He’s had two runs back from a spell, both over 1100m here, the latest run being just over two weeks ago when back off the speed and kept finding the line in a really good effort behind Conclave Prince. Like him up in trip and should prove hard to hold out.
Danger
4 Style And Grace (Bet Now: $4.80) looks to have returned in good order and takes beating here I say. Gritty win here last time I thought given she was on speed and doing work, and credit to her, she was there to be beaten but she found under pressure to win. Lands near the front and takes running down.
Long Shot
9 Queen In The North (Bet Now: $14.00) is a Tommy Logan trained mare that ran over this track/distance last time. She got back off the speed and found the line well enough in defeat when third. Likely spots them a start again but should be strong late.
Chances are you’re about to lose.

3 The Claimant (Bet Now: $3.90) looks ready. To be fair, he looked ready on a number of occasions when with Mick Kent in Victoria but he’s had two runs for Neil Dyer and has been quite good each time, the latest being over this track/distance when making up good ground late. Better for that run under the belt, he takes beating here.
Danger
1 He’s Maverick (Bet Now: $3.00) has done little wrong this time in for Kym Healy and rates highly. Put together a couple of strong wins on the bounce prior to contesting the NT Derby when back near last but unleashed a strong finale late in the piece when second. If within range, he has the finale to launch.
Long Shot
9 Missed Victory (Bet Now: $23.00) is a winner at the trip and is in the right camp of Neil Dyer. He ran over the mile here just over two weeks ago where he got a fair way back and did make up some headway but was never really a factor. Like him up in trip and his best is more than good enough.
Chances are you’re about to lose.

1 Bear Story (Bet Now: $2.80) looks a good thing. His win in the Chief Ministers was arrogant. Yes, blessed with the run in transit, but he broke the track record, and he was first up over the mile, where he we know he’s a much better horse at 2000m+. Callow rides, he’s got upside, class and he just looks to have lengths on them IMO. I think he’s being priced on his Victorian form, where he was either outclassed or found wet ground. Purely off his win last time, he’s an odds on chance.
Danger
3 Wolfburn (Bet Now: $3.90) has the Garry Clarke polish as well as a sense of timing. He was a dominant winner of the Metric Mile last time out where he landed near the speed and was trucking before being clicked up and he was far too good. The rise in trip looks ideal and with his track/distance record, he is one of the leading threats.
Long Shot
10 Hettinger (Bet Now: $14.00) is a stablemate of Bear Story that comes through the Metric Mile where he was far from disgraced in defeat behind Wolfburn, sitting wide and doing too much work and just felt the pinch late in the piece. Tricky draw, so likely goes back but I think will be strong late.
