$SP.00) hasn’t quite set the world on fire this time but his best is more than good enough to threaten. He ran over this track/distance last time out when off the speed from the tricky gate and just couldn’t quite get involved behind Excellent Daddy. Has a gate to settle much closer and gets Purton aboard.

Long Shot

8 Hoss (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) comes back to 1200m after racing over 1400m here last start. I was quite keen on his chances but gee he let me down with a very plain finale, finishing down the track. Back to 1200m, I think, is fine, and despite the tricky gate, his best is good enough to win.

$SP.00) is knocking on the door to win for David Hayes and I think he gets a great chance here. Three weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance where he was leading and looked to be trucking. Purton clicked him up and he looked home but just couldn’t quite see it through when second to Grand Nova. Looks to have found another winnable race, happy to be in his corner.

2 Alluring Laos (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) comes here with fresh legs, having not raced since Nov 24 when debuting at this track/distance, giving them a start and a beating in quite a strong performance. Tick over trial was quite good and is proven down the straight. Hard to beat.

Long Shot

10 Sunny Qm (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is a son of Rich Enuff on debut. He has had extensive trial work in readiness for start one. Latest trial came here on Dec 17 when running sixth but to my eye, didn’t move too bad. Bred to be handy so I say watch the market and see what it does.

$SP.00) has class and I’ll bank on that class getting him home here. His last run came in the Jockey Club Cup when outclassed (like every other horse was) behind Romantic Warrior. Couple of tick over trials since have been strong and back in trip, back in grade/depth, he takes beating.

$SP.00) has a good track/distance record. He ran over 1800m last time out at Happy Valley where he got back to near last in the run and although not a winning threat, he did make up ground and was quite good in defeat I thought. Back to this level, he appeals.

5 Call Me Glorious (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) jumps sharply in trip after racing over 1200m in recent runs. Latest run was on Dec 22 when down the track and a bit on the plain side behind Raging Blizzard, who goes around later in the day as a leading chance. If the distance is fine, then a win wouldn’t shock at all.

$SP.00) for me. David Hayes trains this son of All Too Hard, who is on debut. He has had extensive trial work in readiness for start one, starting in Australia before coming this way and his trial has steadily got better with each effort. Purton booked, kind map, he’s the one for me.

$SP.00) has been freshened up since a Nov 24 debut win over this track/distance where he got into a decent spot just off the speed from the inside gate. Just a matter of getting clear air and once that eventuated, he was strong late and impressive. Commands respect.

Long Shot

4 Motoman (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing over 1400m here. He didn’t have the best of runs in transit so forgive and forget the run when down the track behind New Future Folks. Tricky draw again, but a good racing style and back to 1200m suits.

$SP.00) is racing like he wants 1800m and for mine, he’s the each way play. He has had two runs back from a spell, both over 1400m here. Latest was two weeks ago where he got a fair way back but I did like the way he finished his race off in defeat behind Johannes Brahms. Racing like he wants further, which he gets here…just hope the inside gate can be used to advantage.

$SP.00) is racing really well at present for Danny Shum. He put together a couple of impressive wins on the bounce before going to the mile on the dirt where he got too far back and although he did make up headway, he wasn’t a winning threat. If he can overcome the tricky draw, he’ll be around the mark.

6 Ariel (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is a threat at odds. He ran over the mile on the dirt last time where he did early work from the wide gate and that early burn just told on him late in the piece behind Never Peter Out. Claim, inside gate, he’s a definite improver.

$SP.00) seems to like the short course racing and off last start, he takes beating here I say. He ran over this track/distance last Sunday and was one of the eye catchers of the meeting, closing off with real purpose late in the piece when third to Super Fortune. Draws the right part of the track and if within range, he’ll be hard to hold out.

$SP.00) comes back to 1000m for David Hayes after racing over 1200m here three weeks ago when off the speed and made up minimal headway behind Swift Ascend. Better suited at the short course and his best is clearly good enough.

6 Holmes A Court (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is one of the more fascinating runners on the program. Formerly with Team Snowden in Australia, he won the Black Opal last year so there is a touch of quality about him. Trial work has been solid enough, I say watch the market and see what it does.

$SP.00) looks the winner, all things being equal. He was a bit on the plain side here two weeks ago behind Raging Blizzard, with the vet finding nothing post race. That was his first run in six weeks so perhaps with upside/improvement to come, he is the one if you can forgive last start.

$SP.00) was a very impressive winner of the race mentioned above, giving them a start and a beating in an electric performance, running decent time in the process. He gets Bowman, a good speed to sit off…clearly rates highly.

6 Gorgeous Win (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is dangerous. He ran second to Raging Blizzard. He was dragged back from the wide gate but made up several lengths, closing with real purpose in defeat to run second. If the inside gate can be used to advantage, he takes beating.

$SP.00) is one of the more fascinating runners on the program. He was known as The Reluctant Star in Australian when trained by Tom Conlan. He won 2/2 there before being purchased to race in Hong Kong. Extensive trial work to get ready for the Hong Kong debut and good lead is that Purton is booked.

$SP.00) is a model of consistency for Danny Shum and suspect that trend will continue here. He won over this track/distance two weeks ago, getting the sweet sit in behind before angling into clear air finished best to score. Ideal map here and strikes a winnable race.

2 Aeris Nova (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) comes through the Super Legends race mentioned above. He got badly checked and was eased out of the race in a total forgive behind the Danny Shum galloper. Been a bit off the boil this prep but his best is more than good enough to take this out.

8 Flying Akeed (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is the best each way gamble on the card for mine. He debuted over this track/distance five weeks ago where he was near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he kept finding the line and was quite good in defeat. Better for that run under the belt, good upside/progression and does strike a very winnable race.

1 Magnificent Nine (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) steps back up to 1400m after racing over 1200m here a fortnight back. He got back in the field but made up decent headway and was quite good in defeat I thought behind Lady’s Choice. Back up in trip is fine and does get Purton to steer.

6 Baby Satelite (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is a son of Toronado that resumes for David Eustace. This guy debuted over 1200m here in October when raw/new to the caper and failed to fire a shot behind Patch Of Cosmo. Spelled and with two trials under the belt, I say he’s ready to go.

11 Light Years Charm (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) will do me in the get out. Former Coffs Harbour based galloper that made his Hong Kong debut over this track/distance three weeks and was quite good from near last when fifth, beaten just under four lengths. Form out of that race has been good, enormous upside, rates highly.

13 Packing Angel (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) was knocking on the door to win and it came four weeks ago at this track/distance where he gave them a start and a beating, delivering on the promise he has been teasing since day one. He’s got that win on the board now, he can go on with it.

5 Bundle Award (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is a handy horse I feel. He resumed at this track/distance two weeks back where he got to near last in the run and while he was never threatening, he did make up ground and was quite good in defeat I thought. If he can use the inside gate to advantage, he’s a threat.
