Taste Atlas the experiential food guide that ranks foods based on their ranking by people across the world, has recently announced its 2024/25 world food awards. These awards have listed several foods, cuisines and dishes in the ‘Top 100 list’ and people are crazy about these lists, as Indian cuisine and various Indian dishes have made it to the top. These lists are a testament, that irrespective of the critics calling Indian cuisine full of spices, it is one of the much-loved cuisines in the world.
Just like every year brings a new hope, there are several takers for Indian cuisine too and while it has been ranked as the 12th best cuisine in the world by Taste Atlas, several Indian dishes have made it to the top.
The experiential food guide has recently revealed its list of “100 Best Dishes in the World” and in the same Murgh Makhani and Hyderabad Biryani have been placed at no 29 and 31 positions respectively, while Chicken 65 has been ranked at 97 spot and Keema at 100th spot. Both Murgh Makhani and Hyderabadi Biryani have received 4.52 stars out of 5 from people around the world. On the other hand, Chicken 65 and Keema received 4.44 stars.
Topping the list is Lechona, which is a traditional Colombian dish that highlights roasted pig stuffed with rice, peas, onions, and spices. This dish originates from Tolima and is a festive centrepiece served at celebrations. This slow-cooked Colombian dish is known for its rich flavours and crispy skin and represents Colombian culinary heritage.

Though, all these dishes that have been featured in this list are non-vegetarian, it doesn’t mean that vegetarian dishes are behind. India has a variety of dishes that people love across the continents and this is what has paved for India’s 12th spot on the ‘World’s Best Cuisines’ list.
