3 Signor Bill (Bet Now: $2.40) should be winning this, all things being equal. He was knocking on the door to break the maiden tag and it came last time at Ballarat, settling just off the speed before angling clear and he made a mess of them in a dominant display. His confidence is up, he can go on with it.
Danger
2 Brighella (Bet Now: $4.50) has done little wrong in a two start career for James Cummings and rates highly. He let down with purpose to win on debut at Cranbourne before going to the Mornington Sires where he got back and found the line well enough without threatening behind Perspiration. Like him up to 1400m and the depth isn’t as deep this time around.
Long Shot
1 Snack Bar (Bet Now: $4.20) is bred to appreciate 1400m. He ran second to Perspiration in the Mornington Sires a fortnight back. He sat on speed and tried his guts out but clearly had no answers late for the Maher juvenile, who looks above average. I think with a touch more patient steer, 1400m should be fine.

6 Lady Di Di (Bet Now: $14.00) should appreciate the bigger track and the rise to 1100m for Cliff Brown. She ran three weeks ago at Mornington where she got a fair way out of her ground but I really liked the way she finished her race off behind Fasuto. Has run well at the track/distance previously and this isn’t a strong race on paper.
Danger
1 Mawallock (Bet Now: $2.00) is a Trust In A Gust mare for Lindsey Smith that resumes. This girl is first up, having not raced since the Spring where she ran twice and bolted up each time, looking like a Stakes class mare, so keen to see how she goes here first up for a stable that usually fires around this time of year.
Long Shot
3 Blistering (Bet Now: $41.00) is several weeks between runs since contesting The Mystic Journey over 1200m here when far from disgraced in defeat behind Waltz On By in a race that had far greater depth than here. Trial work since has been encouraging, I am not dismissing him.

1 Cadmus (Bet Now: $4.40) looks quite clearly the one to beat. Team Freedman trained gelding that resumed over the mile two weeks ago at Mornington where he got back off the speed and kept chasing in a really good effort behind Frigid, finishing third. Back to 70 grade, in well after the claim…all points to him.
Danger
14 Disturbia (Bet Now: $8.50) is a ripping mare for Team Browne that has to be respected as one of the leading contenders. This girl led throughout to win at Mornington two weeks ago, getting a gun front running steer and was strong to the line in winning. Good test here in a race that has depth, but with her racing style, she appeals and will give herself every chance.
Long Shot
4 Mirzann (Bet Now: $8.50) is a very interesting runner. Former French stayer that makes his Australian debut for Chris Waller, his last run being a win over 3000m. Moved well enough in a Bendigo trial and although 1700m is on the short side, he has a touch of quality about him, so watch the market.

3 Pantelone (Bet Now: $6.50) is a straight bat play but not much interest from a betting perspective. This gelding got a 12/10 from Zahra and that was a big reason as to why he got the job done when winning over 1200m at Sandown last time. I reckon 1200m sees him right out so back to 1100m and maps perfect, happy to have him on top.
Danger
1 Holy Racket (Bet Now: $7.50) is a beauty for Team Williams. He comes here with fresh legs, having not raced since Good Friday when leading throughout and spanked them at Yarra Valley. You’d think he’s heading to Hong Kong eventually but he has an engine under the hood and has a good racing style.
Long Shot
4 Canny Hell (Bet Now: $11.00) is a ripper for Kym Davison and is a definite threat. This gelding ran over 1200m at Wagga last time when just off the speed and tried his guts out but couldn’t quite get the win when third to a talented animal, The Prodigal Son. Month between runs there so with room for improvement, he rates highly.

3 Larimer Street (Bet Now: $23.00) is capable with his best. David Jolly trained gelding that ran in the Railway Stakes a few weeks back at Oakbank where he got back to near last in the run and did make up some headway but was never really threatening behind Celsius Star. Back on the bigger track, he’ll be spotting them a start but should be strong at the end.
Danger
6 Philosopher (Bet Now: $5.50) is a jump/run type that is suited to the short course. He last ran over 955m at The Valley on March 8 when just off the speed and tried his guts out but found one better, just, in Scuderia. He likely finds the front and with that racing style, he’ll give himself every chance.
Long Shot
4 Twin Perfection (Bet Now: $7.50) is a beauty for Phillip Stokes and commands respect. He has been kept on ice, having not raced since March 11 when knuckling down with purpose to win over 1100m at Ballarat. Fresh legs in what looks a fast run 1000m, he maps to stalk the tempo and be strong late.

7 Angland… (Bet Now: $3.40) just how good is he? 2/2 to start his career, both wins coming at Pakenham. He won like a really good horse on debut before getting the job done next time, beating the older horses and was strong to the line in winning. He’s racing as if 1400m suits, kind map, and you don’t know how good they are til they’re beaten.
Danger
3 Wolfy (Bet Now: $8.50) has a few loose screws upstairs but he does have an engine under the hood. This guy comes through the Bendigo Guineas where he got back to near last in the run and while he did a bit wrong, I liked the way he found the line late in the piece. If he can settle closer and have better racing manners, he’ll be a leading contender.
Long Shot
4 Dual Pressure (Bet Now: $12.00) comes back to 1400m, which I find interesting. He won the Mornington Guineas two weeks back over the mile, getting a 12/10 steer by Bowditch and in a driving go, finished best to win. Back in trip is the query and there is more depth to this, but he should be strong at the end.

5 El Soleado (Bet Now: $5.00) is a beauty for Robbie Laing. Been up forever it seems like but he is holding his form really well, as seen three weeks ago when winning the Golden Mile at Bendigo, knuckling down with purpose late to win and win well. There is no sign of him stopping and he only has to hold his form to be around the mark once again.
Danger
7 Carini (Bet Now: $7.00) is a very interesting runner. Danny O’Brien trained galloper that is several weeks between runs since contesting the Easter Cup over 2000m here where he was a bit on the plain side and disappointing in the straight behind Captain Envious. Fresh legs and back to the mile, his best is more than good enough.
Long Shot
6 Virtuous Circle (Bet Now: $21.00) is a talented stayer for Liam Howley that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since the Melbourne Cup where he finished down the track and I just don’t think he ran the two miles. He is better suited over further but he has a touch of quality about him so watch the market.

2 Aztec State (Bet Now: $4.80) for me. Team Hayes trained three year old that was second up when racing over the mile at Caulfield Heath last time, getting back off the speed and he worked home with real purpose late in the piece when second to Chihuly. Hard fit now and up to 2000m, not a deep race, he’s the one I am happy to be with.
Danger
1 Gates (Bet Now: $4.60) should appreciate getting back up to 2000m. He was 2000m back to the mile when racing in the Mornington Guineas two weeks ago. He seemingly had every chance but he just lacked the change up speed to get the win when third to Dual Pressure. Back up in trip and fitter, he appeals.
Long Shot
5 Zambezi Khan (Bet Now: $16.00) is a quality filly for Patrick Payne that commands respect. This girl comes through a 1900m race at Mildura where she looked a moral on paper and duly saluted, leading throughout and winning like it was a barrier trial. Progressive, heading in the right direction and in a good camp.

8 Euphoric (Bet Now: $4.60) is racing like he will eat up the 2000m. He comes through the Golden Mile at Bendigo where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, I really liked the way he found the line late in the piece behind El Soleado. Love him up to 2000m, right down in the weights, strong late…he’ll take beating.
Danger
6 Aberfeldie Boy (Bet Now: $5.00) is sneaky flying and can certainly take this out. Did more than enough fresh in the Bairnsdale Cup before going to the Easter Cup at Caulfield where he got back to near last and was very good late, close up in defeat behind Captain Envious. Gee he looks well suited against this lot and remains down in the weights.
Long Shot
2 Wild Planet (Bet Now: $17.00) hasn’t done much in a long time but his best is clearly good enough. He comes through the Golden Mile at Bendigo where he was last in the run and pretty much stayed there behind El Soleado. He is a winner at 2000m and any hint of his best, he’d go close here.

2 Chorlton Lane (Bet Now: $3.90) is a very smart galloper for Ciaron Maher that rates highly. He resumed three weeks ago at Bendigo where he gave them a start and a beating, launching late from near last and won with something in reserve. Destined for better races than this and this should be another winning stepping stone. Keen.
Danger
1 So Risque (Bet Now: $7.00) is a beauty for Team Hayes. He comes here with fresh legs, with his last race being on March 2 at Flemington where he seemingly had every chance from just off the speed but couldn’t get past the very much in form Arran Bay. Good form around him, consistent and is rarely far away. Leading contender.
Long Shot
15 Elkington Road (Bet Now: $27.00) is a Michael Moroney trained gelding that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since Feb 3 over this track/distance when down the track behind Jimmysstar. He is a horse who can sprint well fresh, has jumped out well enough and this isn’t an overly deep contest to my eye.
BEST BET: Race Three Number 1 Cadmus
NEXT BEST: Race Ten Number 2 Chorlton Lane
LONG SHOT: Race Nine Number 8 Euphoric
