$SP.00) is the way I am leaning in the opener. He looked cast but he found positive form two week ago at this track/distance, working home with purpose from near last when third. He can build off that IMO and he does get J Mac aboard.

8 Winning Seven (Bet Now: $10.00) ran fifth in the race Ivictoriam contested. He got off the speed and seemed to have his chance but kept finding and was good in defeat. More positive ride and I say he can take this out.

3 Winning Heart (Bet Now: $2.80) is on top. He ran two weeks ago at this track/distance when off the speed and chased with purpose but just couldn’t quite there. Maps ideally, should be strong late and finds a winnable race.

1 Ever Smart (Bet Now: $7.00) is an interesting runner. He comes here with fresh legs, having not raced since Nov 3 when down the track over 1400m at Sha Tin in what looked a stronger race than this. Given a mini freshen up and has trialled well since, band gets J Mac aboard.

4 Good View Glory (Bet Now: $21.00) is four weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance when back off the speed and was never really a factor. He has trialled up nicely since then and overall, this isn’t an overly strong contest.

2 Lucky Touch (Bet Now: $2.40) is the one to beat, and clearly. He was a dominant track/distance winner from three weeks ago, getting the sweet sit in transit before angling into clear air and he got better as the race went on. Tricky draw, but he’s the one they have to beat.

4 Corleone (Bet Now: $4.80) hasn’t been too bad in two career outings, both at Sha Tin. He did more than enough on debut over 1400m before going to the mile where he wasn’t quite as dynamic but he stayed on. Back to this level, he appeals.
Long Shot
1 Happy Universe (Bet Now: $46.00) is an improver at odds. Formerly racing in Macau, his first run in Hong Kong came over 1400m at Sha Tin just over two weeks back. He was never really a factor but he stayed on and was far from disgraced in defeat. Better set up here, he’s a must for exotics.

4 Champion Method (Bet Now: $5.50) for me in what looks a very tricky contest. He was a track/distance winner from three weeks ago, giving them a start and a beating in a very strong performance from off the speed. Has a kind map in his corner and with a stack of speed engaged, I can see him getting back and launching late.

3 Lean Master (Bet Now: $5.00) ran second to Champion Method in the race mentioned above. He tried hard from the inside gate but just couldn’t quite get there when beaten around a neck. Gets a big jockey upgrade and maps well, like Champion Method. Leaning contender.
Long Shot
8 Circuit Seven (Bet Now: $8.00) comes through the same race won by Champion Method. He got a fair way out of his ground and while he was never a winning threat, he kept finding the line and was good in defeat when fourth. He’s dangerous if he can settle closer in the run.

4 Jumbo Fortune (Bet Now: $5.50) is finding it hard to win but gee he does look well placed here. His recent racing has come at Sha Tin where he has been a model of consistency without winning, the latest run seeing him run third over the mile. Tends to race better at Sha Tin vs Happy Valley but gets Bowman, a suck run and will be strong late.

8 Lucky Banner (Bet Now: $11.00) is three weeks between runs since attempting to lead throughout at this track/distance and he did give a very strong sight from the front but just couldn’t quite see it through, run down late by Happy Daily. Tricky draw, but will press forward and take catching.

5 Can’t Go Wong (Bet Now: $8.50) is a knockout hope. He ran two weeks back at this track/distance where he got off the speed and while he was never threatening, he kept finding the line in a good effort in defeat behind Viva Graciousness. Buick on, can settle closer, a definite winning threat.

4 Masterofmyuniverse (Bet Now: $3.60) just has to overcome the tricky draw and I think he has a bit on this lot. He debuted three weeks ago at this track/distance when off the speed and kept finding the line in a very good effort when a narrow second to Street Conqueror. Better for the run under the belt…if he can overcome the gate, I think he’s too good.

5 Team Happy (Bet Now: $7.00) is a key threat, especially if he gets front end control. He didn’t quite get that three weeks ago here and just felt the pinch late in the piece when fifth. Tick over trial was good, he lands on speed and should take running down.
Long Shot
12 Crystal Powerful (Bet Now: $12.00) comes here with fresh legs, having not raced since Oct 30 at this track/distance when just off the speed and tried hard but couldn’t quite finish the job behind Team Happy. Has a much kinder barrier in his corner this time around and has good upside.

Casper Fownes trained son of Shooting To Win that resumed with a win at this track/distance on Oct 30 where he gave them a start and a beating to win impressively. The break between runs should be fine and he does get Ryan Moore steering hence why he seems the logical starting point.

1 Lovero (Bet Now: $20.00) has a wide gate to overcome but he was an impressive winner a fortnight back at this track/distance, getting the sweet sit in transit before angling clear and knuckled down with purpose to win and win well. Bowman on, hard to beat if he can overcome the gate.

9 Never Too Soon (Bet Now: $18.00) has a good record at Happy Valley and is racing like he will appreciate a rise to the mile after racing over 1400m at Sha Tin last time when back off the speed and kept chasing in a pretty good effort behind Silvery Breeze. I think he’s a threat if within range 400m out.

Keen to be with 3 Kyrus Dragon (Bet Now: $5.50). Lot of quality about his first up win on Oct 16 over this track/distance, getting back in the run but came with a brilliant finale to wear them down and win impressively. Good test here in a harder race but has a kind barrier to do no work, good upside and has a world class rider in Colin Keane to steer.

9 Spicy Gold (Bet Now: $5.50) is the only threat. He won on the same night as Kyrus Dragon at the track/distance and ran quicker time by just under three lengths, letting down with real purpose from off the speed. He has had a couple of tick over trials since so fitness will be no issue.

4 Super Joy N Fun (Bet Now: $11.00) is a knockout hope if they go silly in front. He ran over this track/distance on Oct 30 where he got back to last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he did close off quite well in defeat I thought. Tick over trial was good and he can settle much closer in the run.

He hasn’t raced since Nov 6 when winning over the mile here, getting back off the speed but came with a well timed run to finish best and win impressively. He does tend to save his best for here, tick over trial was nice and gets J Mac on from a plum draw. The one to beat.

9 Flamingo Trillion (Bet Now: $6.00) is knocking on the door. He ran second in the race mentioned above from Nov 6 when on speed and he tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through and was run down late. If he lands on speed without spending too many petrol tickets, he’s dangerous.
Long Shot
2 Senor Toba (Bet Now: $21.00) was far from disgraced in the Vase last year but he hasn’t really set the world on fire since so he drops miles in grade/depth. He resumed on Nov 3 in the Ladies Purse when just finding them a bit too sharp when down the track. He has class and that will carry him a long way.
