7 Always Enuff (Bet Now: $10.00) has always looked a filly with talent and for mine, she represents value in the opener. She has jumped out well since day one and leading into this prep has been no different. Plagued by wet tracks throughout her career, I think she maps to get a sweet run and be dangerous at odds.
Danger
2 Electric Elvis (Bet Now: $5.50) is a Grahame Begg trained gelding that is making his debut and he looks ready to go off some impressive jumpout work, indicating a debut win is in the mix. The draw makes things tricky but if he gets the breaks, he can win for sure.
Long Shot
8 Beautiful Jewel (Bet Now: $20.00) is a daughter of Highland Reel for Ciaron Maher that resumes. She has only had one run, which came over 1000m at Sandown when far from disgraced behind Blue Renegade. Trial/jumpout work has been encouraging and she should be strong at the end.

5 Fragile Love (Bet Now: $1.80) gets the nod for me. Matty Ellerton trained mare that resumes after ending last prep on a high with a dominant win at Sandown over 1000m. Love horses that go out on a Hugh because they usually return in similar form and her jumpout work has been strong.
Danger
2 Wakanjeja (Bet Now:
$SP.00) is capable. This mare resumed over 1000m at The Valley where the scamper didn’t suit her, as well as the tight track, so I want to be forgiving. Bigger track, fitter, more gentle tempo, she’s dangerous for sure as a key winning prospect.
Long Shot
3 Matao Ma (Bet Now:
$SP.00) comes here with fresh legs, having not raced since Sep 27 at Benalla when down the track and potentially looking a tired horse. He races best when on speed and rolling so if that can eventuate, he’ll run a cheeky race at odds.

8 Autumn Colours (Bet Now: $8.00) looks one of the better gambles on the card for mine. Symon Wilde trained mare that is going really well at present and comes here of the back of a dominant win at Warrnambool and yes, it was a Highweight, but she made a mess of them and was strong to the line, so 2400m here is ideal, she can settle handy and be strong late.
Danger
6 Foix (Bet Now: $5.50) has the Ciaron Maher polish and gives every indication of appreciating 2400m. Not sure he beat much at Cranbourne last time but it just didn’t matter because he had lengths on them and was quite impressive. Good test here but confident he can measure up.
Long Shot
3 Last Raider (Bet Now: $5.50) has done little wrong in two runs this prep. Dominant win first up at Coleraine before going to 2200m at Hamilton where he tried his guts out from just off the speed but found one better in Brungle Raider. Good upside, I say he commands respect here.

3 Treat Him Right (Bet Now: $6.50) on top. Matt Cumani trained gelding that has done little wrong in two career outings, winning impressively on debut before going to Ballarat where he ran a well held second but the winner, Big Swinger, looks a Stakes class horse, so that form clearly reads well IMO and if he gets a cheap lead, he’ll take catching.
Danger
4 Wainman (Bet Now: $8.50) is a nice horse for Team Hawkes. Just needed the run on debut at Geelong but bounced back in a big way at Mornington last time, leading throughout and giving nothing else a look in to win quite comfortably. Harder here, but think he can measure up.
Long Shot
8 Belcony (Bet Now: $5.50) is an interesting runner. Reece Goodwin trained filly that resumes, having not raced since July 3 when on debut at Sandown and just didn’t quite measure up behind Superlicious. Given a break, has jumped out well and finds a winnable race so watch the market.

13 Floozie (Bet Now: $3.00) looks to have a bit on these if she’s ready to go. Price/Kent trained mare that resumes after a solid Autumn/Winter, where she established herself as Saturday clas with several ripping efforts. Jumpout work has been strong and all things being equal, I think she’ll be winning here.
Danger
6 Alectrona (Bet Now: $4.60) is the key and only threat to Floozie. Team McEvoy trained mare that is first up after a busy Autumn/Winter where she was quite consistent and rarely far away. Maps ideally and 1300m fresh signals intent.
Long Shot
1 Calico Jack (Bet Now: $5.50) is the one that is hard fit here and with his on speed racing style, he’ll give a stack of cheek. He was an all the way winner at Geelong last time, giving nothing else a look in to win well. If this track is playing up/in, he’s dangerous at odds.

3 Sure (Bet Now: $2.80) is the one to beat here for Price/Kent. He resumed at this track where he paraded a bit big in condition and I think that brought him undone late behind Sunsource. Better for the run, ideal map and he does have a touch of quality about him. Happy to be in his corner.
Danger
9 Served Cold (Bet Now: $7.00) is a Danny O’Brien trained mare that resumes. She is first up, having not raced since the Oaks last year when down the track and failing to see out the 2500m behind Zardozi. She has quality on her side and has jumped out well for the return.
Long Shot
2 Gin O’Clock (Bet Now: $6.50) ran second in the Sunsource race mentioned above. He attempted to lead throughout and gave a strong kick from the front but couldn’t quite see it through, run down late. If he finds the front and gets control, he’ll take running down.

If in doubt, gravitate towards the overseas raiders, which was the case last week and I didn’t learn. I learned my lesson so clearly on top is 9 Sea King (Bet Now: $5.50). He didn’t disgrace himself in the Ebor, and that form was franked last Wednesday by Onesmoothoperator in the Geelong Cup. If that is the yardstick for this, then Sea King is clearly the one to beat.
Danger
2 Berkeley Square (Bet Now: $6.00) is in career best form for Dan O’Sullivan and commands respect off his effort behind Kingswood in the Coongy. The sit/sprint set up wasn’t to his liking for him at all but I liked the way he found the line late in the piece. Racing like 2400m suits, he’s a leading contender.
Long Shot
They are trying to convince themselves that 5 Knight’s Choice (Bet Now: $31.00) is a Melbourne Cup horse and this is last roll of the dice. He hasn’t fired a shot this time in but I will say he has been plagued by unsuitable trips and wet tracks. Ideal gate, firm deck, hard fit…I’d be including him in exotics.

It does look a tough meeting when it comes to utter standouts, but I do think that 10 Mantua (Bet Now: $2.50) is one. He ran over 1100m at Seymour last time out and tried his guts out from on speed but couldn’t quite finish the job. The query is 1100m, a strong 1100m, but I think he’ll glide across on speed and this isn’t a deep contest.
Danger
4 Brazen Lady (Bet Now: $6.50) is a Matty Ellerton trained mare that resumes. This girl is first up, having not raced since July 6 at Flemington when racing over 1400m and working home strongly when second to Cindy Falls. 1100m is on the short side for her but has jumped out well for the return and should be strong late.
Long Shot
8 Scully (Bet Now: $13.00) is capable with his best. He resumed at Caulfield at the midweeks where he got back in the run and failed to get involved when down the track behind Nadal. Fitter, can settle closer in the run and his best is more than good enough to be dangerous.

I am convinced that 11 Easy Dun (Bet Now: $3.00) has a big motor and if he puts it together, he has plenty on this lot. He resumed over 1400m at Ballarat where he got a fair way out of his ground but I really liked the way he finished his race off in defeat when third to The Shaper. He is quirky but clearly has an engine under the hood and if he does everything right, I think good luck beating him.
Danger
5 Masterful (Bet Now: $21.00) will love firmer footing and with that in mind, is dangerous. He ran on Moe Cup Day where the track was a paddock and he couldn’t pick his feet up late in the piece. He’ll land on speed and on a track more to his liking, I think he can run a much improved race.
Long Shot
6 Lulu Darling (Bet Now: $17.00) is one I can entertain for multiples. She ran over the mile at Murtoa last time out and she tried hard but for mine, the 1600m was a bridge too far and she battled late. I do like her back to 1400m, and from the gate, she’ll do no work and be effective late.
