The PGA Tour is in Scotland this week for 2024 Genesis Scottish Open, and we’re eyeing a winless pro as our long shot to win. Here’s our long-shot pick, the Genesis Scottish Open odds, betting favorites and everything else you need to know.
Our long-shot pick for this week’s Scottish Open is Denny McCarthy, who comes into the tournament with +6600 odds-to-win.
McCarthy has been featured in this space before, and though he still hasn’t come through and won his first PGA Tour event, it seems like he always gets close.
So far this season, he has six top-25 finishes, three top-10s and a runner-up at the Valero Texas Open. Just last week, McCarthy earned a T7 at the John Deere Classic. He’s bound to win a PGA Tour event sometime soon, and he’s in form right now. Why not this week?
If you entrust $10 on McCarthy to win and he pulls it off, you’ll earn $660. For insurance, consider placing additional small bets on McCarthy to finish top 10 and top 20.
Looking for more long-shot bets for the Genesis Scottish Open? This week’s honorable mentions are Adam Scott (+6600) and Jordan Spieth (+5500).
Rory McIlroy makes his first start since the 2024 U.S. Open this week, and he’s the pre-tournament betting favorite with +700 odds-to-win,
Xander Schauffele, the reigning PGA champion, comes in second at +800, with Collin Morikawa in third at +1400,
