The 2024 MVP race is consistently described as a tight one between Allen and Jackson. Does standout running back Saquon Barkley have a shot?

The odds certainly reflect the fact that Barkley is in a different tier than the two quarterbacks. But there’s no question that the halfback’s 2024 season was incandescent.

Barkley became just the ninth player in NFL history to eclipse 2,000 rushing yards. He also had a career-high 13 touchdowns and averaged a career-high 5.8 yards per attempt.

It’s been hard for Barkley to break through all the chatter surrounding Allen and Jackson. He may just have to content himself with being the odds-on favorite to be named Offensive Player of the Year.
