3 Pure Paradise (Bet Now: $3.40) is three weeks between runs for Tony Gollan since racing in the Tatts Plate over 1200m here when off the speed throughout before being presented clear air and tried hard but couldn’t quite finish the job when third to quality filly Cigar Flick. First run for the stable there and was seven weeks between runs so she has good room for improvement.
Danger
1 Daytona (Bet Now: $8.00) hasn’t quite set the world on fire this time in but I do think he’s more than capable in a race like this. He ran behind Rockribbed a few weeks back at Ipswich where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he did make up good ground. Dangerous for mine if he can settle closer in the run.
Long Shot
10 Surfers Royale (Bet Now: $34.00) is an interesting runner. Billy Healey trained gelding that comes here with fresh legs, having not raced since June 16 at the Sunny Coast when struggling behind Yes To Excess after being part of a speed battle. Like him with fresh legs and loved the way he went in a recent Deagon trial win. Watch the market.

8 Top Boy (Bet Now: $5.50) is worth an each way speck for Mark Currie. He comes to town off the back of a win in the Gatton Cup where he gave them a start and a beating, launching late to finish best. He’s right down in the weights, he maps to do no work in the run and this isn’t a deep race on paper, plus he will be strong late.
Danger
5 Lately (Bet Now: $6.50) has returned in good order I feel for Brian Smith and should love the rise to 2200m. He ran over 1800m here last Wednesday when back in the run and closed off nicely late in the piece behind Brookhaven, finishing fourth. Up to 2200m, has good upside/improvement and can settle much closer in the run.
Long Shot
2 Southern Stock (Bet Now: $7.50) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness for Stuart Kendrick. He ran behind Brookhaven here last Wednesday. He made up solid headway from off the speed, beaten a tick over five lengths. Like him up in trip and his best is more than good enough.

1 Steely (Bet Now: $9.00) is sneaky flying I feel for Ryan/Alexiou and should take a power of beating here. He was 1600m back to 1500m at Rosehill a few weeks ago where he just got too far out of his ground and was never a factor but his finale was sound enough in defeat I thought behind Highlights. Hard fit, up in trip, really keen on his prospects.
Danger
4 Without Revenge (Bet Now: $3.70) has found winning form and he can certainly go on with it. Team Geran trained gelding that won at this track/distance at the midweeks last time, making a mess of them from on speed and was quite dominant in the run to the line. He’s got room for improvement, good racing style and strikes a winnable race.
Long Shot
3 Jetty (Bet Now: $15.00) is three weeks between runs for Chris Munce since contesting the Tatts Mile at this track/distance where he tried hard from on speed but did a bit too much early work and felt the pinch late in the piece behind Cottee. Back to this level, lands on speed and with a more economical run, he’s dangerous for sure at odds.

2 Matisse (Bet Now: $2.35) looks hard to beat for Team Freedman. He resumed over 1110m at Doomben where he was Winx like odds and although the trip was clearly short of his best, class kicked in late and he let down to win. Fitter and up in trip, bigger track, good form around him…the one to beat.
Danger
1 Astapor (Bet Now: $5.50) is five weeks between wins for Clinton Taylor since racing in the Oxlade over 1300m here when outclassed on paper to my eye but for the most part, far from disgraced in defeat behind a nice horse, Megastar Heart. Tick over trial last week at Deagon was quite good and I do think back to 1200m and back in grade/depth, he only runs well.
Long Shot
6 Toro Strike (Bet Now: $17.00) should appreciate a rise to 1200m. He resumed two weeks ago over 1000m at the Sunny Coast when resuming. He was run off his legs early but picked up and was quite good late in the piece when third to impressive winner Shows A Sign. Like him up in trip and on a firmer deck, he appeals as a key chance.

5 Millane (Bet Now:
$SP.00) is hard to beat if he can settle closer. Three weeks between runs for Tony Gollan since racing at this track/distance where he just got too far back in the run and while he made ground, he was never a winning threat behind Hidden Wealth. Good record at the track, can settle a pair or two closer and still be effective at the end.
Danger
2 Shooting For Gold (Bet Now: $3.70) is getting near D-Day I feel. O’Dea/Hoysted trained galloper that has been okay without setting the world on fire in two runs back from a spell, the latest being in the Healy three weeks ago when back, keen and couldn’t finish his race off behind Zarastro. Hard fit now, and with better racing manners, he does have class on his side.
Long Shot
7 Manhood (Bet Now: $4.00) is an interesting runner. He comes here with fresh legs for Annabel Neasham, having not raced since May 18 at Scone when struggling to pick his feet up on the shifty track behind Dollar Magic. He does have class and will love a dry deck, so watch the market.

8 Emperor (Bet Now: $4.80) is a sharp short course animal for Matty Dunn that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since Feb 17 when racing over 1400m at Grafton when producing an end of prep run in the Country Championships Qualifier behind Tribeca Star. I think sprinting is his go and his trials to get ready have been very good to my eye. Keen to see how he goes, potentially with a Kosciuszko start on the horizon.
Danger
4 Millane (Bet Now: $2.70) is hard to beat if he can settle closer. Three weeks between runs for Tony Gollan since racing at this track/distance where he just got too far back in the run and while he made ground, he was never a winning threat behind Hidden Wealth. Good record at the track, can settle a pair or two closer and still be effective at the end.

1 Zaphod (Bet Now: $2.10) is a very, very interesting runner. Former Irish galloper that made his Australian debut at Scone when quite safe in betting and on testing ground but he lapped up the conditions best and was quite dominant late. He’ll love getting to 1800m and he has the potential to be a very nice horse.
Danger
10 Poutchek (Bet Now: $7.00) is a former UK filly that is loving life down under it seems. She’s had two runs for Rob Heathcoate, being a real eye catcher fresh over 1350m before stepping up to 1400m here where she lapped up the bigger track and was quite dominant late. Eats up further ground I say and with upside/improvement, rates highly.
Long Shot
4 Ashfall (Bet Now: $19.00) will love getting to 1800m. He’s had a couple of runs for Stuart Kendrick and is getting better. He did more than enough fresh at the Sunny Coast before going to Ipswich where he wasn’t happy on the tight track but he balanced up and was good late. He’ll love getting to 1800m on the big track and third up, should be hard fit, ready to go.

13 Caspernova (Bet Now: $3.40) gets the nod for me. Rob Heathcoate trained gelding that has done little wrong in a four start career. He was bursting to win a race and it came at Ipswich over 1200m last time where he looked a good thing on paper and despite a few nervous moments in the run, class kicked in and he was much too good. Confident he can measure up against these.
Danger
2 Pure Paradise (Bet Now:
$SP.00) is three weeks between runs for Tony Gollan since racing in the Tatts Plate over 1200m here when off the speed throughout before being presented clear air and tried hard but couldn’t quite finish the job when third to quality filly Cigar Flick. First run for the stable there and was seven weeks between runs so she has good room for improvement.
Long Shot
15 Miss Miriam (Bet Now: $27.00) is a big watch here. Hard in the market at Warwick last time but was tailed off last, pulling up with Cardiac Arrhythmia, so a clear excuse, and how often do we see horses bounce off that excuse and win next time. Form prior was solid, I’d watch the market.

10 Redwood Shadow (Bet Now: $5.00) hasn’t won in a long time but that said, he is sneaky flying I feel for Team Sears and is hard to beat against this lot. He ran over 1400m two weeks ago at the Sunny Coast and in testing conditions, he found the line and was good in defeat behind Punch Lane, who backed up and won the Glasshouse, so that form reads super for this. Hard to beat.
Danger
9 Blazen Boots (Bet Now: $6.00) should take beating here for Tony Gollan. He ran over the mile four weeks ago at Ipswich when near the speed throughout and tried hard but couldn’t quite get there when third to Cocobrew Express. If he can settle closer in the run, he takes beating.
Long Shot
3 This’llbetheone (Bet Now: $11.00) is on the seven day back up for Jack Bruce after racing last Saturday over the mile at Doomben when wide no cover, doing too much work, and just felt the pinch late in the piece behind impressive winner Cinque Torri. Off prior efforts, he’s good enough here, especially back in grade/depth.
