Night racing continues at Canterbury this Friday. The weather is fine, the track is soft (5) and the rail is out four metres for the entire circuit.

I want to give 6 Red Envelope (Bet Now: $5.50) the nod. Well bred GaiBott filly that resumes after a plain debut at Warwick Farm in June but it was on testing ground and the second trial to get ready for her return was on wet ground, and she hated it. I am thinking that on a dry deck, she finds the front and takes running down.
Danger
1 Piccadero (Bet Now: $5.50) has been given a good grounding for the return. He resumes for Ciaron Maher, having not raced since the debut back in July at Scone on testing ground when placing behind Fox Reign, battling away really well in defeat. Won well in a trial over 1100m here so he’s ready to go I say.
Long Shot
3 Vetwelve (Bet Now: $6.50) is a son of Grunt that resumes for John Sargent. He debuted over this track/distance on May 29 when held up at times but kept finding the line in a solid debut behind Depth Of Character. Loved the way he went on speed in a recent Randwick trial, so watch the market.

3 Everybody Rise (Bet Now: $3.30) is the best horse in the race. Just all depends if he’s ready, and I am saying he’ll run really well. He hasn’t raced since Aug 14 on the Kenso when running fourth to Theblade in what has been a decent form reference since. Gelded and has looked great in a couple of trials. Positive ride I am hoping for and if that eventuates, he takes beating.
Danger
7 Madam Instrife (Bet Now: $1.35) is a mare that is bursting to win her maiden but I will say she does seem very much on the short side given she was a beaten favourite at Newcastle first up when on speed and seemingly had her chance, run down late. That was over 1250m though and I do think back to 1100m is ideal. She can win, but $1.50? No thanks.
Long Shot
5 Spandex (Bet Now: $101.00) is a son of Pariah that resumes for Scott Asprey. He hasn’t raced since his debut at Newcastle on Aug 15 over 900m when finding a heavy track and he couldn’t pick his feet up late in the piece. Couple of strong trials under the belt, I say he’ll run a positive race at odds.

5 Iconify (Bet Now: $2.05) looks like he will appreciate a rise to 1550m and has good upside/scope. He debuted over 1300m at Hawkesbury where he just found them a bit sharp but he kept finding the line and was pretty good in defeat I thought. He’ll love the extra trip and should be able to settle much closer in the run.
Danger
9 She Rex (Bet Now: $2.80) has done little wrong in two career outings and rates highly for me. Lot of merit in her run three weeks ago over 1250m here when doing early work to land on speed and despite being one of the first off the bit, she kept on and was good in defeat behind Inside Man. If the trip is fine, she’s hard to beat.
Long Shot
8 Sharon Drive (Bet Now: $14.00) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness. She ran over 1300m on the Kenso last time when just off the speed and just couldn’t really get involved behind Alinea. Hard fit now and up in trip, I am not penning her given the Waller polish.

3 Autumnmation (Bet Now: $5.00) does tend to save her best for this track and with good upside, a kind map, I think she’s worth a play. She resumed over 1400m at Rosehill where she had a suck run off the speed and just lacked the change up speed to go with them late in the piece behind Redbreast. Fitter and up in trip, if she can land box seat, she’ll take holding out.
Danger
2 Frankly Elegant (Bet Now: $3.70) looks the likely leader and from there, she’ll take running down. She resumed over this track/distance three weeks ago when on speed and she did give a strong kick, she had no answers late for Pier Pressure. Better for the run and firmer deck, she takes beating.
Long Shot
4 Bacio Del Mist (Bet Now: $41.00) should appreciate a rise in distance. Team Curtis trained mare that resumed over 1400m on the Kenso where she got off speed and kept chasing in an encouraging return behind Liberty State. Better set up here and with enormous upside, she is a knockout hope.

4 Fiddlers Green (Bet Now:
$SP.00) should appreciate firmer footing for the Neasham/Archibald camp. He ran on testing ground at Rosehill just under two weeks ago and while safely held by Shangri La Spring, he kept on and was pretty good in defeat I thought. Firmer deck, more positive ride, he can take this out.
Danger
2 Bat Out Of Hell (Bet Now: $1.90) has done little wrong this time in and does have a liking for this track. That was the case last Friday night at this track/distance, leading throughout and despite being challenged late, he found under pressure to fend them off. Front end control, he takes running down.
Long Shot
1 Monarchs Brae (Bet Now: $8.50) is a track specialist for Chris Waller that resumes. He hasn’t raced since Aug 31 when racing over 2000m at Rosehill and tried his heart out from the front but couldn’t quite see it through when second to Matusalem. Trial work has been encouraging and fresh at 1550m signals some form of intent.

1 Apex (Bet Now: $2.50) has done little wrong in two runs this prep for Team Hawkes. He resumed with a dominant maiden win at Hawkesbury before going to 1250m here when on speed and fought hard but couldn’t quite get there behind Codetta. Hard fit now, good racing style, he appeals.
Danger
2 Manuscript (Bet Now: $3.70) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness. He was a strong maiden winner at Wyong fresh before having a mini break and going to Rosehill where he wasn’t 100% happy on the wet track behind Private Harry. Hard fit, firmer deck, front end control, hard to beat.
Long Shot
5 Revolt (Bet Now: $16.00) comes to town after two runs at Wyong to start his career, winning last time out over 1200m when leading throughout and credit to him, he was there to be beaten but found under pressure to win. Not sure he wins, but can run top four.

6 Shines (Bet Now: $8.50) gets the nod for me. Team Hawkes trained gelding that steps up to 1200m after racing over 1100m four weeks ago here when off speed and kept chasing in a pretty good effort in defeat behind Yiska. The break between runs should be fine and gets T Clark on.
Danger
3 Super Bright (Bet Now: $14.00) is a Nathan Doyle trained mare that resumes. This girl is first up, having not raced since May 11 at Newcastle in a Midway when struggling on a bottomless deck behind Navy Blood, who was flying at the time. She can sprint well fresh and has trialled nicely for the return.
Long Shot
1 Munitions (Bet Now: $21.00) should appreciate firmer footing. He ran over 1250m here last time out on the bottomless deck and was good but just couldn’t quite dash quick enough. If he can overcome the tricky gate, his best is good enough.

3 Like A Tiger (Bet Now: $7.50) is a great each way gamble. I was keen on him at odds over 1550m here three weeks ago but was one of many not suited by the track pattern, but did find the line well enough in defeat. He was several weeks between runs there so fitter and up to 1900m, keen on him running a positive race.
Danger
7 Heaven Bound (Bet Now: $5.00) is on the seven day back up after racing last Friday night at this track/distance behind Soldier Of Rome when running third. She got into a sweet spot behind the speed but just couldn’t quite get the room to wind into her work. If that can eventuate here, she’ll be dangerous.
Long Shot
5 Fay’s Angels (Bet Now: $7.00) is on the seven day back up after racing last Friday night here where she should have gone close to winning but had zero luck in the straight and pretty much went around like it was a barrier trial. If she gets room to move, she can threaten.
