A solid ten race program has been set down for Sha Tin on Sunday, with good depth across the program.

I think 7 Hoss (Bet Now: $4.80) is the way to go in the opener. This gelding ran over this track/distance three weeks ago where he got back to near last in the run from the wide gate but worked home with purpose and was quite good in defeat behind Super Wise Dragon. He has that 1400m run under the belt and J Mac sticks from last time. Hard to beat.
Danger
2 Charmander (Bet Now: $6.00) was a track/distance winner two back before going to the mile at Happy Valley where he got back and was never really a factor in a forgive run given I don’t think he runs 1600m out. Fresh legs and back to 1400m, leading contender with a drag into the race.
Long Shot
6 Gluck Racer (Bet Now: $4.80) is under a month between runs since racing over the Happy Valley mile. He got into a decent spot just off the speed but couldn’t quite finish the race off when down the track behind Viva Graciousness. He does tend to race best at Sha Tin and a tick over trial looked strong to the eye, so keen to see how he goes.

4 Super Charizzard (Bet Now: $31.00) has found winning form and he can go on with it. That win came on Nov 20 at Happy Valley. He got run of the race from the inside gate. Just a matter of getting clear air and once he got it, he dashed and was impressive in the run to the line. He has been getting better with racing and despite the tricky gate, I think he’s the one to beat.
Danger
3 Yoda’s Choice (Bet Now: $2.25) is knocking on the door to win. He ran two weeks ago over the mile on the dirt here where he attempted to lead throughout and gave a strong kick but just couldn’t quite see it through when a narrow second to Precision Goal. Gets a big upgrade with Zac Purton taking over and with his racing style, he’ll give himself every chance.
Long Shot
7 Flying Phantom (Bet Now: $12.00) should appreciate a rise in trip after resuming over 1000m at Happy Valley where he got back and was never a factor but did make up ground in a solid enough return. Like his tick over trial win last Friday and does get J Mac. Definite improver.

8 Tactical Command (Bet Now: $6.00) for me. Mark Newnham trained gelding that hasn’t raced since Nov 6 when back in the run over 1200m at Happy Valley and although he made up headway, he was never really a factor behind Giant Leap. Tick over trial win here was good and I think with a more positive steer, he’ll take beating.
Danger
5 Newborn Miracle (Bet Now: $6.50) is an improving type. He debuted over this track/distance four weeks ago where he got back off the speed from the inside gate and did make up ground in a solid enough debut behind Spicy Spangle. Better for the run under the belt, maps to settle much closer in the run and still be effective late.
Long Shot
4 Cosmic Spurs (Bet Now: $20.00) has to be given another look. He debuted over 1200m at Happy Valley where he got dragged back from the wide gate and was never a factor when down the track. He had trialled well prior to that and the tick over trial last Friday was strong. Definite improver at odds I say.

Going to take a chance with first starter 7 Happy Shooter (Bet Now: $9.50). Danny Shum trains this son of Deep Field, who has had four trials this prep in readiness for start one, so the grounding is there, and he has looked to get better with each trial. Latest win was over 1000m here and seemed to move well enough to my eye to suggest he’ll take beating at start one.
Danger
6 Circuit Jolly (Bet Now: $3.40) has been pretty good in two career outings and I do think back to 1000m is ideal. He has raced over 1200m here in both runs, each time leading and giving a solid kick, but just couldn’t quite finish the job. Back to 1000m, drawn the right part of the track and Purton sticks.
Long Shot
4 Grand Nova (Bet Now: $6.00) has run well down the straight previously and I think he deserves a look. He ran just over two weeks back at Happy Valley over 1000m when dragged back from the wide gate and was never a factor when down the track. Better suited here, a win wouldn’t shock.

9 Gold Master (Bet Now: $14.00) is racing like a rise to the mile will be ideal. He was good on debut over 1200m before going to 1400m on Nov 9 when back in the run and made up solid headway I thought in a tidy performance behind Strathpeffer. Tick over trial win was god and he has upside compared to most here.
Danger
4 Flying Luck (Bet Now: $4.20) is the key threat. He ran over this track/distance three weeks ago where he got a bit further back than anticipated, getting a fair way out of his ground, but worked home with purpose when third to Matsu Victor, beaten 1.5L. Vincent Ho won on the horse two back and he is on for this.
Long Shot
3 Devas Twelve (Bet Now: $8.00) was ridden by Ho in the Matsu Victor race mentioned above, whereas Flying Luck was ridden by Bowman. They are doing the switcheroo, with Bowman riding Devas Twelve. He was good in defeat two, getting further back in the run and clocked good late splits. Hard to beat if the inside gate can be used to advantage.

3 Yuen Long Elite (Bet Now: $6.00) is the one for me if he brings his best. He hasn’t raced since Nov 3 over this track/distance when doing early work from the tricky gate and I just think that told late in the piece behind Flying Luck. Gets Purton and despite a tricky gate, he’ll take beating against this lot.
Danger
4 New Future Folks (Bet Now: $6.00) is racing like a rise to 1400m will be fine after three career outings at 1200m. Latest run was three weeks ago here. He got into a really good spot in the run and presented to win but just couldn’t quite finish the job when third to Hong Lok Golf. Maps to get a sweet sit in transit and 1400m should be no issue.
Long Shot
2 The Heir (Bet Now: $7.50) is three weeks between runs for Casper Fownes since racing at this track/distance where he got dragged back from the wide gate and while he was never a threat, he did make up ground and was pretty good in defeat I thought. Gets in well after the claim and has a gate to settle much closer in the run.

4 Fast Network (Bet Now: $1.55) looks the good thing on the card. Very progressive short course galloper that is four weeks between runs since a track/distance romp when on speed and he was absolutely trucking before being clicked up and away he went to win and win impressively. He looks destined for better races than this and all things equal, should take care of this lot.
Danger
7 Healthy Healthy (Bet Now: $11.00) is flying and has to be respected. Track/distance winner from two weeks ago when near the speed and was moving with purpose before being clicked up by Vinvent Ho and away he went to win and win well, albeit narrowly. Good test here, but think he’ll run well.
Long Shot
3 James Tak (Bet Now: $17.00) is a definite improver. Son of Headwater that resumed over 1200m at Happy Valley a few weeks back when doing too much work from the wide gate and was never a factor when down the track behind Beauty Charge. Good record down the straight and fitter, he’s dangerous with his best.

2 Wealth Enough (Bet Now: $4.60) on top for me. Son of Rich Enuff that raced over this track/distance on Nov 3 when dragged back from the wide gate and while he was never threatening, he found the line and was good in defeat. Tricky draw again but does get J Mac on and with a drag into the race, he’ll take beating.
Danger
The unbeaten run of 1 Packing Power (Bet Now: $21.00) came to an end four weeks ago over 1200m here. He worked across from the wide gate to lob outside the leader and seemed to get a decent enough run in transit but when asked for the effort, he tired and was plain late. 1400m is the query but he does have a touch of quality about him.
Long Shot
9 Light Years Charm (Bet Now: $3.90) is a very interesting runner. Former Aussie galloper that was with Brett Dodson at Coffs Harbour but now finds himself in Hong Kong under the care of David Eustace. He showed good promise in two runs down under, placing on debut at Taree before a dominant win at Lismore. He looked a Country Championships horse but connections took the money and his trial work has got better. Market watch for sure.

1 Swift Ascend (Bet Now: $2.70) is the way I am heading. David Eustace trains this son of Lord Kanaloa. He is three weeks between runs since a sharp win over this track/distance. He got into a beautiful spot under J Mac from the gate before angling clear and knuckled down to win narrowly but impressively. A horse heading in the right direction and maps ideally once again.
Danger
All you can do is win and that is what 12 Meowth (Bet Now: $3.60) did at this track/distance on debut four weeks ago. Not sure he beat a great deal but the manner in which he put them away was impressive and ran solid enough time for the Class. Good test here but has a kind map in his corner and has good upside/scope.
Long Shot
7 Majestic Express (Bet Now: $4.80) is the map horse and dangerous with his best. He hasn’t raced since Nov 3 at this track/distance when off the speed and kept chasing in a good effort in defeat when fourth to Glory Elite, beaten over three lengths. Couple of tick over trials were good and does no work from the draw.

11 Packing Turbine (Bet Now: $5.50) on top in the get out. This guy resumed over 1200m here on Nov 3 where he just looked in need of the run but was good late without threatening Glory Elite, beaten under five lengths. Jumps straight to the mile off a couple of trials and I dare say connections are hoping he can progress and get to the Derby.
Danger
6 Silvery Breeze (Bet Now: $15.00) made a statement at his Hong Kong debut four weeks ago over 1400m here. Admittedly he did have the suck run in behind but he still had to take advantage of it and that he did, winning impressively. Tricky draw, but has to be respected.
Long Shot
1 Cap Ferrat (Bet Now: $13.00) is a very interesting runner. Chris Waller formerly trains but he is now here with eyes towards the Derby. He has had a stack of trials to get ready for first up and his best Australian form is clearly good enough to give this a shake so watch the market.
