3 Headwall (Bet Now: $14.00) has to be given another chance. Matty Smith trains this gelding, who spanked them fresh on the Kenso before going to Rosehill where he got off speed and did make up minor headway but was a bit on the plain side late behind Briasa. Hard fit, I think he should be given another look.
Danger
1 Baraqiel (Bet Now: $7.50) comes here with fresh legs for Team Corstens, having not raced since July 20 over 1200m here where he seemingly had his chance but that said, he was far from disgraced in defeat behind Mr Exclusive. Tick over jumpout was sharp, he’ll press forward and give a big sight.
Long Shot
6 Scheelite (Bet Now: $12.00) is a very interesting runner. Team Keys trained gelding that resumes, having not raced since March 30 when down the track here in the Sunlight Classic behind Estriella. He is a track/distance winner from earlier in his career, been given a good break and has jumped out really well for the return.

5 Dawn Service (Bet Now: $4.00) should take running down. GaiBott trained three year old that is several weeks between runs since attempting to lead throughout at Rosehill and tried hard but bumped into a very special filly, Autumn Glow. Jumpout here was sharp, he looks the leader and ability wise, looks up to these for sure.
Danger
1 Wonder Boy (Bet Now: $2.90) looks a good prospect for Jerome Hunter. He has been strong in two runs this time in, both at Caulfield, the latest behind Growing Empire in the McNeil when off speed and kept chasing in a strong effort. I think he’ll love 1400m at Flemington and is hard to beat here I say.
Long Shot
3 Detroit City (Bet Now: $5.00) is 2/2 for Dom Sutton and does look above average. Lot of quality about his win on debut at Wodonga before proving that was no fluke with an outstanding win at Flemington several weeks ago, sitting just off the speed before angling clear and he made a mess of them. Keen to see how he goes.

4 Bold Bastille (Bet Now: $3.80) is a short course type for Team Hayes and I do think back to her own age/sex, she appeals big time. Took on some big boys and girls when resuming at The Valley in the Carlyon and ran an okay race in defeat behind subsequent Moir winner Mornington Glory. Back to this set up, proven down the straight, she takes beating big time.
Danger
7 Manolo Bling (Bet Now: $9.00) is an improving type for Team Freedman. Strong win from off the speed to win on debut at Caulfield before going to The Valley three weeks back when attempting to lead throughout and tried hard but couldn’t quite see it through when third to Immortal Star. I think with a bunny to chase, she’ll be more effective.
Long Shot
8 Kuroyanagi (Bet Now:
$SP.00) is just about getting towards D-Day I feel for the Clarken/O’Shea camp. She has been a touch disappointing in two runs back from a spell, the latest run being in the Quezette where she seemingly had every chance and was a bit on the plain side behind Drifting. Hard fit, has class, but this is nearly last chance territory for the prep.
Chances are you’re about to lose.

1 Growing Empire (Bet Now: $1.80) is a star. Yes, he had the A1 run in transit when resuming in the McNeil two weeks ago but the way he put them away and was eased down late…it was the win of a Group l winner in waiting and for mine, he wouldn’t look out of place in The Everest. I think he wins, but I’d wait because I think his best price will be come jump time.
Danger
12 Reserve Bank (Bet Now:
$SP.00) is a colt I have so much time and is one I have eyes on towards the Coolmore. Price/Kent trained colt that resumes after an arrogant debut win at Bendigo back in June. Yes, beat nothing, but the way he put them away without really being fully extended…he looks a good one, and his trial/jumpout work has been very sharp. He’s here to rock and roll I say.
Long Shot
11 Polyglot (Bet Now: $31.00) is one to be entertained for exotics. He ran three weeks back over 1200m at The Valley where he got on speed and looked to be going pretty well but when asked for the effort, he just lacked the class to go with them late behind Daggers. Not sure he wins, but can run top four.

7 Dashing Duchess (Bet Now: $7.50) is absolutely flying for Symon Wilde and has earned a crack at this race. He comes through a couple of strong wins over 2500m at The Valley where each time she has been there to be beaten but each time she has been quite strong to the line in winning. Harder here, but confident she can measure up.
Danger
6 Berkshire Breeze (Bet Now: $4.00) comes here six weeks between runs for Ciaron Maher since racing at this track/distance when odds on. He led and seemingly had his chance but was beaten fair and square by Horrifying. I think the break between runs helps his cause, he’ll press forward and his best is more than good enough to do a number on these.
Long Shot
8 Point King (Bet Now: $3.60) is several weeks between runs for Team Freedman since racing over 2040m at The Valley where he was trucking with purpose in the run before being clicked up by J Kah and away he went for a dominant win. He is a horse I have had as a potential Melbourne Cup horse for 18 months and the first up win was impressive. Keen to see how he goes.

13 Devoted (Bet Now: $13.00) is worth a throw at the stumps for me. Team Hayes trains this gelding and it’s clear now that beyond 1400m sees him right out. He comes back to this track/distance and three back, he should have beaten Gentleman Roy but was wide throughout. Maps to get a suck run and if there is petrol in the tank, he runs very well I say.
Danger
10 Carini (Bet Now: $16.00) is a very interesting runner. Danny O’Brien trained gelding that resumes, having not raced since May 4 at Caulfield where he was a bit on the plain side but that said, the race shape was against him, with Dashing getting complete control in front and proving too good. He has been given a break and his jumpout work has been quite sharp.
Long Shot
8 Bank Maur (Bet Now: $7.50) commands some level of respect. He did work to find the front when resuming at Caulfield a fortnight back and for a fair chunk of the straight, he looked home but was nabbed late by Another Wil. He does have the talent to run well so I am not dismissing him, especially off that return.

I am going to get sucked in by 15 Foxy Cleopatra (Bet Now: $20.00) because i do think the grounding is there to say he’ll run a beauty fresh with three jumpouts and the last two were run in fast time, so she’s ready to go I say re fitness and her fresh record is very good. Should have won at this track/distance first up two preps back and maps perfect to stalk the speed.
Danger
1 Quintessa (Bet Now: $5.50) is a classy mare for Te Akau that resumed with a bang two weeks ago in the Cockram, getting better as the race went on and was strong to/through the line in winning. Fitter and up in trip, off that return…gee she’s going to take beating once again.
Long Shot
2 Vibrant Sun (Bet Now: $19.00) is a Group l winning mare that resumes. She hasn’t raced since the SA Oaks when Zahra losing his reins but was still able to drive her out and she was much too good, beating the subsequent SA Derby winner Coco Sun. She has eyes on the Empire Rose or Golden Eagle so you’d suspect she is forward for this and her trial/jumpout work has been encouraging.

8 Via Sistina (Bet Now: $2.40) is the hot horse of the Spring and easy to see why given her return in the Winx Stakes where she gave them a start and a beating, launching late to finish best. The query with her is that this will be the first time she’ll be in a fast run race. Will she relish the extra tempo, or will she be found wanting? If it’s the former, good luck beating her. If it’s the latter, she’s poison odds.
Danger
Forgive a star for one bad run and you have to do that with 6 Pride Of Jenni (Bet Now: $7.00). She was too bad to be true in the Memsie, but she didn’t pull up 100% the 24-48 hours afterwards, and keep in mind she has never really been a fresh horse. She returns to Flemington, she’ll lead for fun and give an almighty sight.
Long Shot
5 Warmonger (Bet Now: $31.00) looks like he has the grounding to run a super race fresh. He resumes for Price/Kent, having not raced since that unbelievable win in the QLD Derby where he was wide no cover throughout yet won by ten lengths and his late splits were some of the best of the meeting. Incredible win. Trial win was impressive and the jumpout last week saw him close off with purpose in a fast run trial, so for mine, he’s got the fitness base to run a beauty.

5 Spacewalk (Bet Now: $8.00) is a James Cummings trained gelding that resumes. He hasn’t raced since the early part of the Brisbane Carnival when game in defeat in the Chief De Beers behind Golden Boom. He does go well fresh, he loves the straight course and has trialled up really well for his return. Hard to beat I say against these.
Danger
9 Right To Party (Bet Now: $4.60) is a talented mare for Team Freedman who does have a real love affair with the straight six. Has been kept on ice since giving them a start and a beating to win the Aurie’s Star, stamping herself as a Spring contender hence the freshen up and running here. Her trial at Cranbourne was super and she’ll be rocketing late. The one to beat IMO.
Long Shot
7 The Astrologist (Bet Now: $21.00) is one I can entertain for wider exotics. He ran several weeks back in the Aurie’s Star at Flemington. He was near the speed, chasing and tried hard, but just lacked the killer blow to go with them late in the piece behind Right To Party. Not sure he wins but a first four threat given his love affair with the track.

Back Me
7 Keats (Bet Now: $14.00) will put himself on speed and run a very cheeky race at a price. He led and did give a sight when resuming at Caulfield but being first up, condition just gave way late behind Rise At Dawn. Better for the run, looks the leader and a tick over jumpout win was quite strong.
Danger
15 Sea What I See (Bet Now:
$SP.00) has to be given another look for Danny O’Brien. She was too bad to be true when resuming at The Valley, getting the sweet sit in transit but when asked for an effort, she found nothing and was quite plain late. She’s better than that and has credits in the bank to be given another look.
Long Shot
6 Berkeley Square (Bet Now: $10.00) should appreciate a rise to 1700m. This gelding resumed two weeks back over 1400m at Caulfield. He got back to near last in the run and while he was never really a winning threat, he found the line and was pretty good in defeat I thought behind Another Wil. Like him up in trip and does tend to save his best for Flemington. Not penning him.
